Default Self-expression around people who are unreceptive

    Hello Deltas,

Do you ever find it harder to be yourself in front of other people when they are not amused or receptive of your feelings and opinions?

I mean if I was to meet a new family at their home and have dinner with them and I see all of them being cold and distant, I'd be a little nervous about my presence there. Do you relate to that?

I have this friend that is very easy to make laugh and I like her specifically for that reason.

idk, not really. i'm comfortable with whatever feels natural. coldness can feel uncomfortable and too much friendliness can feel uncomfortable if i feel like i'm being pandered to.

receptiveness is important but i wouldnt really equate that with emotional expression. maybe the quality of expression but not the quantity.

I'm not sure if it necessarily corresponds to intensity of emotional expression, but I definitely know that there are some instances where i might be around new people and get a vibe that i'm not particularly wanted, or that i dont fit in, and i have a sudden urge to leave (it could be an emotionally animated atmosphere though). Conversely, there are other cases where I feel a much warmer, accepting vibe.

I find this interesting, and I do suspect this is a socionic phenomenon.

    No.

I actually prefer a certain measure of distance and emotional neutrality.

What if I show you some positive emotions? Does that bother you?

But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Watch out with the positivity around here; you may be told you are stupid for being so goddamn positive. Hating yourself and everyone else, and wanting to die, is "IN". As far as positive emotions, there is no such thing, is there? Hell yes, it will bother ME if you show me a positive emotion. I want to be one of the cool kids.
