I also thought he was a cool example because of his mixed heritage. I think it is cool because not everyone fits in a label box (Tiger Woods is a prime example) yet he seems to have decent self-esteem.

I dont think so. There was a huge variation of types of people in the creative-type writing classes I have had. Writing is interesting that way-- is is very universal in topic.
