For OP: Our 'natural' purpose is to provide a means for genes to survive and replicate. We do so by surviving, connecting with others, and socially co-evolving. This means, we also exist to provide a means for memes to survive and replicate. Particularly memes related to genes, heh.
So, one could say that the meaning of life is to interact with the environment, with each other, and with space-time in such a way as to continue and possibly improve the evolutionary changes in our environment, our species, our species' impact on the environment, and our societies and interactions. As all of these will influence and impact each other.
Thanks to our developing brains, we have the ability to intentionally influence or impact these things. One would think, then, that reducing stresses and dangers, and increasing safety and enjoyment would be a species-wide goal for each generation and for future generations.
