Am I the only one here who's never been drunk?
Oh, to find you in dreams - mixing prior, analog, and never-beens... facts slip and turn and change with little lucidity. except the strong, permeating reality of emotion.

I don't give in to peer pressure, nor am I greatly dependant on others for emotional goodness or self-esteem!
Ho ho ho!
(So my answer is, no, you're not alone Minde)
it was never about peer pressure for me. it just makes my brain slow down enough so that my emotions and body can keep track of what's going on. that's all.
(no, I'm not still an alcoholic and haven't been in 3 or 4 years)
these days I take legal drugs, like wellbutrin and xanax.

Passed out -- never.
Thrown up -- perhaps 3 times. But the last time was several years ago.

I have no real idea. I guessed 100 + but it's hard to say. It's over quite a few years though.

You can't wake a person who is pretending to be asleep.
"...and xanax."
Sooo less addictive, right?
And isn't alcohol a legal drug...?

and yes... benzos are scary as hell. I initially resisted when my psychiatrist suggested xanax, but he assured me that it's a very low dosage, the lowest possible (.25 mg), 1/16th of the highest legal dosage. I still don't like the idea... but it's better than chest pain and difficulty breathing and numb/tingling hands and feet and that out of body I-don't-know-where-I-am feeling.

true. I take back what I said. I meant "I don't drink all that often anymore"
Only once for the threw up, after which I decided it wasn't a worthy experience.

Throwing up when you're really really drunk feels kinda good, but afterwards I get a massive headache and the goodness goes away

Who (besides you) said anything about peer pressure?
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.

I only had to throw up once and have one hangover at that same experience to realize that drinking wasn't worth it at all. I have never passed out and I have a tendency to remember everything that happened and those strange memories probably refrains me from drinking heavily or at all.

I think I've only passed out a couple of times. Maybe just once actually.
But I have a pretty weak stomach and it doesn't take much for me to barf.

Once when I was 17 I was drinking tampico and cheap vodka with a friend until late in the morning. Gosh we were drunk. Anyway, I threw up into a white pillow case with a light green forest and black bears for print. I can't recall the event, but what I do recall is that the friend stuffed the puke-ridden pillowcase under the entertainment hutch in his room. It was not washed until a month later when I discovered it and used his parent's washing machine to clean it. The puke really didn't smell after all that time, but it did leave a considerable stain on my teenhood and on an item from his beloved childhood.
