Even after married, each person usually has their side of the bed, which can give the room a schizophrenic look.
On my side of the bed are piles of books, notebooks, piles of notecards. Each month the piles get so big that i shove everything into a box...except for what I'm working on at that moment.
On his side is his laptop bedside desk from which he does ebay work, watches shows, and game books of whatever current turn-based strategy game or board game he and his friends are playing.
(as a kid, i voted library...not much has changed there, lol)

I don't like clutter, so generally I have very little in my room, there can be some clothing lying around/books but I tend to read more on the computer/ereader then anything else.
Child I had tons of books.
Did not vote. Originally I had intended to vote cell by your description, but I don't think it is adequate. I have a few books but not enough for it to be considered a "library" I don't think. However, I have a large amount of other various items sitting about, such as paintball and airsoft guns, computer parts, games and many other things from the hobbies I have enjoyed over the years. My hard drives on my computer hold far more information than the books in my room.
My room is a cluttered mess right now with both books and clothes.
As a child my room looked like a library. I was, and still am an avid reader, so i have quite the collection of books. Now i have a good amount of clothes since i have stopped growing.

Well, I didn't design my room, but everything's pretty much how it seems designed to be: I have bookshelves and upon them I have books, CDs, a few random trophies, and at the top it's sort of a display cabinet for things that I don't like. My desk is covered with papers: some of them I plan to recycle once that pile builds up, some of them will be reused, some of them are somehow important. I have lots of books scattered around, because I don't have room to put them on the shelves. I guess I would conclude library-esque. It would seems surprising if every room could be so easily categorised according to your categories.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. More library than clothes as a kid, but I tended to have clothes in piles because they got put on the back of a chair after washing and then ignored. Piles of stuff in general, I've downsized recently. I've also become tidier with age.

Good guess, but no. It's normal room, it looks like warehouse, but it's just ordinary room, what you see is optical illusion.
My room is mostly filled with junk and electronics, but I did the thing where you put a bunch of the stuff in the thing so you can't know about it.

i can make it a mess in no time (when i am in a riush) but also put it back in order just as fast (when i get back) ,on a daily basis.when it is not orderly there are clothes everywhere and - surprise, surprise - an unmade bed.it's a good think that student rooms here are only 9 m^2.btw college books do not count,cheaters.I dont buy books because i can get my Ni/Te dope on the internet.From time too time i get books from the library though .Apparently,I have to return them at some point and that results in not having a personal pile of literature.

those who are intellectually inclined may live in libraries.. just saying.it's just that if i imagine a strange, cultured gentleman who has shelves of books may bring up literary references in conversations (i'm sure this guy has been in many a movie), i can imagine him as virtually any type. the flavor of the library may vary a little, but anyway.
My interpretation is that you can't handle your stuff in the daytime, but then Mickey Mouse appears when you are sleeping, as in the Fantasía movie, arranges your mess and then writes a complaint note: "Red Baron, If you don't keep your room tidy I won't give you presents next Dec 25, ho ho ho"

A cell, none of the above, I live in the streets, and my religion does not allow me to have a room. A cell because the inside of my car is kind of small, and that's where I live. None of the above, because I'm Ne-valuing. I live in the streets, because I'm living in my car. My religion doesn't allow me, because, well, it is true that I have beliefs and opinions about the economic crisis, and about my own personal finances, and where I think the world is going, and the fact that I want to save money, and that's all connected to my personal beliefs, so it's kind of like 'religion.'
The inside of my car is usually a mess. I have to clean the junk out every couple weeks. There's not much room for junk, though, so it's self-limiting.
Oddly enough, I look at fashion magazines too, although I hardly ever actually buy them.

When I first saw this thread title, I thought it said 'My MOM looks like' instead of 'my room.'

My childhood room: There were lots of books. Not lots of clothes, and those that I had were in a drawer. Well, I had lots of clothes, kind of, but not really fashionable ones, just plain ones. It was cell-like because I didn't like having lots of posters on the walls, not much decoration, very plain and dull. I had lots of stuffed animals (in my childhood and adolescence), so it was like a toy shop. It also almost always had a very dirty carpet and dusty drawers and cabinets, because I hated cleaning and felt that it was unnecessary.
It could have been a pet shop, because I used to let the dogs and cats sleep on my bed, and there was dog and cat hair everywhere. It could have been an antique shop, because I had this stuff from one of my grandmothers which always sat out on the dresser - an old mirror, hairbrush, combs, and little containers, all covered in some stuff which was either plastic or seashell or something - I couldn't tell what it was. I think plastic. And I had the old lamps that I got from some grandparent too, and I can't remember who gave all this stuff to me. It could have been a castle tower, because the window was up very high off the ground on a side of the house which had no other windows, just mine. (That's not the window that I threatened to jump out of, at the other house where we used to live, back when I was even more hyperactive and crazy, when I was a toddler.)
Sometimes the room was a haunted house. My brother and I used to rig up all these traps, tying strings to stuff so that we could pull it or make things fall over, and then ask Mom and Dad to walk into the room, while we hid underneath blankets or under the bed (with the lights turned off), and pulled the strings so that 'ghosts' were moving the objects around the room or dragging things off the dresser, ringing bells, knocking over a big plastic picnic basket with plastic forks and plates in it to make a loud clattering noise. And our parents pretended to be scared or surprised by all the banging, the crashing, and the things floating and moving around the room.
Sometimes my room was a haunted house when I didn't want it to be. I would stare into the darkness, terrified, and see moving shapes, monsters, faces, and eyes. I would hide under the covers with only my nose sticking out to breathe. I kept the door open a crack to let in the light (and now, as an adult, I've realized I was also letting in fresh air, which helps a lot). I would listen to the sounds the house made at night, and I heard footsteps coming down the hallway, every night, though no one was there.
Sometimes my room was a city filled with toy structures. I'd set up all my toys, my legos, my My Little Ponies, my monsters, in big complex arrangements that I would leave sitting out for days or weeks.
I had lots of books ranging from fiction to practical things to science to childhood story books, to books I kept from school and college. I also often had papers and drawings in piles.
If my room had more posters, I think it would look like a proper room; like all the teens have. Sadly the only thing that's on my wall in my room as a decoration is a Lady Gaga poster, above my study table. If you count in a post-it sized graduation card from my teacher as decoration, then make it 2.
It only has a bed, a study table, a plastic shelf and a permanent cabinet. They all complement each other since they're all different shades of purple.
No clutter on the floor, only the bed and the table. I like to call it organized mess.
The folded clothes section of my cabinet is not what you call "prim and proper"; it's a half jumbled mess of folded/unfolded clothes. That's okay because the cabinet door is closed and as long as it's not visible to my eye, it's fine.

My childhood "room" was pretty tidy. I was actually a clean kid - I kept clothes folded and put away, put all of my toys away, etc. The only things I really left sitting around were my lego sets (I was obsessed with legos as a kid) and drawing/painting/writing utensils, because I used to be really into that stuff.
These days, I'm a horrible disaster 95% of the time. I have clothes thrown all over the floor, school books thrown on the floor and my bed, etc. I don't have enough clothes to make a 'fashion statement,' and most of my reading is done online... so I'm going with "none of the above." The majority of my room is just electronics, whatever trash is thrown on the floor, and hair products.

i moved around a lot but theres one particular bedroom i had as a teenager that i'm kinda nostalgic about. it had cool furniture like this desk with a door cover thing over it that rolled up and down in a curve and a lamp that hung from a thick chain and was lumpy and orange and had a dim glow. i did the magazine pictures all over the walls by my bed thing that teens do. it didnt have any particular theme i could vote for, just a few books and notebooks and beauty stuff. i guess it would be a library if i'd had more money. i usually kept it clean.
