    Default Ti vs. Te

Let's talk about how you can recognize the difference in these two functions when typing others. And while you're at it, feel free to vote.

There's a saying about missing the forrest for the trees or something like that, and I tend to see Te people as the ones who see the forrest and Ti people as the ones who see the trees. Te people are more about the main point of whatever is going on, while Ti people are interested in diving deeper into things, learning more of the specifics. If the subject is interesting, it doesn't matter that much whether they'll be able to apply the knowledge or not.

    What do you think?

Should be an option for "neither."

i just assumed she didn't intend it as her 1 or 2 function, but nonetheless had one more dominant than the other.
    LII
that is what i was getting at. if there is an inescapable appropriation that is required in the act of understanding, this brings into question the validity of socionics in describing what is real, and hence stubborn contradictions that continue to plague me.

I don't think that that's a good definition. Te people are also interested in the specifics, in fact, I think it's Ti people who may feel inclined to build up a system too quickly with base on too few data.

Put me with the "neither" crowd. Although, if anything, Te>Ti. Reminds me of my mother in that way. My best guess is, as always, ESFj.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I don't know any INFps IRL, so I wouldn't really know enough about them.

ESFj could also make sense. Or maybe Fe-subtype ENFj? I don't know what type you are, but you seem most similar to my ISFp sister compared to INTps, ISTps... You seem more Fe than INFjs, ENFps.

Maybe the question you should be asking yourself is - are you Si or Ni? I might be mistaken of course, but you seem more Fe than Te and Ti combined.

I think you have stronger Ti than Te.

I also say that Ti does see the forest and the trees, weaving in and out. an ENTj might say, i have to avoid these trees and that boulder to get through the forest. (Te)

    ditto.

I constantly type people IRL and it's pretty accurate (I later hear things about that type which describes the person I have already typed), but there are always people who I can't type. And I suck at internet typing.

Good luck with the conflicting relationship. Maybe you want to reconsider that statement. I lived with my ISFp sister and we basically stayed out of each others way. I stayed in my room, she stayed in hers. It was ok this way. We stopped having conflicts many times per week when we switched to this arrangement. But I wouldn't have a sexual relationship with her.

I've givin up... whatever my type is, I am able to easily use functions that aren't *supposed to* be strong. That being the case, does it really matter what type I am? Does it really matter what type any of us are? Let's assume for a moment that we all have a type... it doesn't change whether we know what that type is or if we think it's a different one.

it would be cool to have a convention so we can all meet and talk shit about eachother on the forums with justification. I call using FDG's house as the rally point.
