I have listened to it too. Echo and Jocko mentioned that Chris Rock should have seen it coming, which I agree with, because such things inevitably happen when joking about someone's wife with their wife sitting next to this person. They say that Chris Rock should have stepped aside and ducked his punch, but he was clearly caught too much by surprise for that. Unlike them, he's a comedian, not a soldier. At the same time I agree with them that that Will Smith had a thousand opportunities to behave better than this, from speaking up, to waiting for the award ceremony to come back at Chris Rock with a clever quip, to just walking up to Chris Rock and telling him not to talk shit about his wife like that, to simply leaving the award ceremony with his wife. There were plenty of alternatives that he could have chosen for.
Jocko doesn't take side, nor do I. What we do say is that Will Smith should have acted more maturely, but also that Chris Rock could have expected such a reaction, @

Nicozeyo. It seems mostly that Will Smith was pressured by his wife to do something about it, because Will Smith initially laughed about it himself, only to meet the death stare from his wife, after which he punched Chris Rock. That to me that seems rather pathetic, to beat someone up, because someone told you to do so. On top of that, Echo pointed out that Will Smith looked smug afterwards, feeling all tough guy for roughing up the puny comedian. That's just sad.
