The reason why your pancakes burn is because the batter is too thick, so you need to add more fluid and you need to cook it on a non stick pan; flip the pancakes over as soon as you see bubbles on top bursting and you probably have your heat up way too high. Here, let me do this the Te way: In this order.

    1. make sure your batter is not too thick but not too thin and pourable; as you have it now, it seems as though it's too thick.
    2. cook on a nonstick pan.
    3. make sure your pan is not too high and if you do use a nonstick, don't over grease the pan; if you are using a stainless or a cast iron, make sure they are heated and before pouring your solution, spray on an nonstick oil like PAM.
    4. flip them over as soon as the bubbles start to burst.

Um, I found out it was actually because I didn't use any oil/butter, lol. I felt dumb for that one. So I started using butter and now they come out like regular golden brown pancakes.

Thank you for the advice though, butter works better for me than PAM or any oils. PAM was used the whole time it wasn't working.

I feel the same way about peanut butter. And it isn't weird. You don't have to like what others like.

I guess both EII and LSE are so oriented towards "fixing" the problem that we can overlook the additions that were not made.

Homemade fish burgers, haha... nice. I like how you always include fresh vegetables in your meals.

Non stick isn't bad as long as it doesn't chip and if oil is used during cooking; we can tolerate a lot of the fumes and it's healthy to cook in nonstick because you use less fat. The chipped parts that may be consumed is non digestible and usually comes out the poop.

Yup. My old man did most of the cooking when I was growing up and made me his kitchen assistant when I was 6 or 7, peeling or cutting vegetables, rolling eggrolls, mixing dough, stirring dishes on the stove. In my teens and early twenties I cooked professionally, but that's kinda hectic so I'd rather just enjoy it at home. Occasionally I invite 6-10 people over for a dinner party, with the last one featuring koshari and a roasted duck stuffed with apples — friends brought salad fixings and killer pot-butter brownies. Still, I eat my fair share of frozen pizzas, pot pies, and burritos too.

If you want to begin enjoying satisfying homemade meals without a lot of fuss I recommend getting a copy of The Joy of Cooking. It's full of great information and is fun to just flip through.

We have a copy of that lying around the house. We primarily use it for cookies and pies, but we consult it all the time.

Mom also picked up four tomes-worth of Cook's Illustrated "Best Recipes" books a while back. Everything we've made from there so far has been very good, from sauteed string beans to Korean fried chicken. Plus the instructions they give are idiot-proof, so anybody with basic knowledge of how knives and stoves work can make anything in there.

I usually improvise dishes and don't have any cookbooks, but I keep meaning to get a copy of that one. I found good instructions in a friend's copy on things like cooking perfect pork chops and cutting up chickens, and I definitely need to learn some proven sauce and gravy methods.

I eat at restaurants for nearly every meal. It seems to cost the same as eating in. I do not understand why people cook. It is too expensive to go to the grocery store. All you do is throw it in the trash.

    Restaurants are easier.

I often eat at gas stations. They are normally cheap and pretty good too.

Some people like to cook, others choose specific products, doesn't trust food quality in restaurant or cook food for more than one dinner and so on

I think you meant cast iron.

    Stainless steel isn't non-stick, it's non-reactive.
