One of my paticularly stressful weaknesses is that I don't really seem to learn from my mistakes. I've been procrastinating on schoolwork for years, leading to unfinished assignments; or I will forget an assignment altogether. My grades reflect this. I've fallen into this trap many times, and I can see the pattern, yet I never fix it. I also have a tendency to get myself into monetary crises through poor money management. I don't always put enough away for the future, assuming "something will work out" by then. It doesn't, of course. I'm in a crisis at the moment and am rather stressed about it.

My Fe-Ej mom has those same weaknesses. What keeps her going is her grandiose self-confidence, obliviousness to failure and lack of admittance to fault.

As far as money management goes, only advice I could give you is to always spend less then you earn/have. Always put a percentage of your money aside, and never touch it. Doesn't have to be much, but you must not get fooled into emptying it out at the first inviting opportunity.

I am aware of the concept. It's just easier said than done. Self-discipline is not my forte.

Self-discipline can be a learned skill.

So after spending 5 weeks with my grandmother, I have some observations to make.
To begin with, I'm nottarded. I guess that really wasn't in question before; but I'm really not completely clueless about helping others out. I think I was actually more helpful at her house than I am at home.

One of the main things I noticed about my grandmother is her hardworking nature. She doesn't sit still often, and she usually has to be doing something. She cleans house because it has to be done. She manages a decent-sized garden; and I saw what a pain it is to prepare the ground up there for planting. She also cans food.
She's not obsessive about her appearance. She throws on a little makeup for work but isn't going to spend much time primping to go anywhere. She doesn't seem to care if my clothing is wrinkled when we go somewhere.
On the matter of cleaning house, she tells me I should take better care of my surroundings. She considers it a matter of self-respect. Other criticisms of me are that I am lazy and (less often) impractical. To qualify the latter, she has said that I "live on the top floor but have to remember how to get down the stairs". To be fair, she says the same thing about my ESE mother.
There's more to it, but that's fine for now.
