Do you have inherited your type from your parent? I have the same type and personality as my INTp father. What about you?

    No.

    Father: ISFp
    Mother: ESFj
    Brother: ENTp

I was the only non-Alpha, and in hindsight this makes a lot of sense.

But from the descriptions by people who knew him, it's possible that my father's father - who died before I was born - was an ENTj.

No, my father is INFj, mother is ESFp and my sister is ISFp. I think none of my grandparents was an ENFP.

My father influenced my of course (especially in terms of I, and perhaps N, too). But we are not the same type. He's... IxFx. Major F type.

Perhaps I get the j/p variation from time to time from him. He's unstable, it seems, looking back at him now.

well, I originally thought she was ENFj, but peter met her and said she's definitely INTp. however... she seemed too... um, happy... to be an INTp, so I thought perhaps ENTj, but she's obviously not. this is what she looks like

    So definitely not.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Our parents have the same types (if I typed mine correctly. I find it awfully hard to type parents!)!

Fun times. Got pwned by my dad all throughout childhood, so attacks no longer have any effect on me.

I'm not close to anyone other than my parents in my family. But if I were to inherity my type from anyone, it would definitely be my grandfather on my father's side. MR INTj. He should be on the SOCIONICS website, now that I understand more about the "traditional" INTj....

I wonder if your parents types, make some types more likely for you to be born with, or whether its just random. If you inherit traits from both parents, it would make sense.

Given that things like eye colour etc are influenced by your parents genetics, and many mental disorders are more likely if you parents have them (passed on genetically), you would think something very fundamental to the human brain, i.e type, would also to an extend be influenced by you parents genetics.
