Both an SLE friend and I really dislike scary movies (scary=horror). Is this at all type or quadra related? I have no use for them!
(I'll bet it's not)

Fucking pussies. I love scary movies
i think the stereotype is that EIIs are bothered by depictions of violence and stuff, but i really like scary movies. i think they scare me more than they scare most people (but idk..when people say stuff like "saw was hilarious" i kind of don't believe them lol). but i like being scared.
i'm usually not really scared during the movie..it comes later, when i'm trying to sleep and my mind won't shut up. and that can be kind of annoying sometimes. but it doesn't stop me from watching them.
anyway, i don't think its type related.
I don't think it's type related, but I'm definitely too much of a pansy to enjoy horror movies. I suppose action/horror hybrids like Predator or Snakes on a Plane are fine, but otherwise I avoid them because I have no balls (not literally).

I don't like either category but am especially scared by the second category. I still sometimes think about Psycho when I'm in the shower and I watched that one a loooooong time ago.![]()

I watch these movies squeezing the hand or arm of the person sitting next to me. Jumping up and down in my seat. Peeking through my fingers. Just being an overall nuisance. People tend to laugh at me, though.![]()
It really depends on the film. If it's well done like The Shining, The Ring, Friday 13th (original), Exorcist, etc, than I can get into it. They still disturb me, but I can appreciate them as good films. But overall it's not a genre I prefer.
I find that most horror flicks, especially the modern ones, tend to fall into "torture porn" where the entire focus is on the killings and everything else is disregarded.
In terms of how they affect me on a deeper level, I don't really get emotionally involved as much as I become more paranoid after seeing them (). I find death and fear in movies that are more reflective of reality to have a deeper effect on me emotionally (i.e Shindlers List)

I like watching scary movies. The Grudge used to really creep me out. Not as much any more but I wouldn't want to watch it on my own. Paranormal activity is creepy to me. I love Stephen King's Rose Red movie. I like The Descent, it's pretty scary at points but still somewhat believable. The Ring is somewhat scary but not too bad. I liked Quarantine in that is was scary but I think it was a bit too realistic seeming to me. When I left the theater I just felt bad, as if I had actually watched the events of the movie unfold in front of my own eyes. Me and my friends had to talk it out afterwards as we all felt kind of uneasy inside.
