I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Very little consensus. This is troubling for VI Socionics.

I think he's the same type as William too, but LSE. I have LSE and ESE friends and they are very very similar, but the verbalization and life values are more consistent with LSE imo.

I think if folks met William they will probably get a better idea of his type.

LSE > ESE ... wait. In fact I can't see ESE at all. I've had the questionable pleasure of being seated next to this gentleman at a restaurant bar in Austin, Texas, and he was as energetic and emotive as a doorknob. There was not one bit of spark of anything I could consider Fe. He was also totally unresponsive to Fe.

Perhaps he can turn on something Fe-ish when he feels like it, but over the course of an hour I never saw it, and there's no way he's Fe-dom.

I dunno if we should class the excessively vain in a way like most everyone else.

Maybe, but he wasn't as famous at the time, and he was more excessively dim than vain.

    Regardless, Fe-free.

About as LSE as they come. Recognizing semi-duals is a piece of cake. The Queen Latifa interview is very telling. You let LSE talk...they will run with it forever.

anti-perspirant is the aluminum containing substance. most men's deodorants are just deodorants (no antiperspirant), so shouldn't have aluminum in there.

I kind of interpreted his preference as just feeling strongly about wanting to be natural, which there's nothing wrong with, but just unpleasant to be around (?Fe-devaluing?)

OK, so as far as I see there are various ideas, but the Ej seems to prevail (since the bumping of thread anyway).

What about his wife Camila Alves (post #113)? If not type, at least what temperament?

The typings mostly seem to be for something ej, which fits with my impression feeling of "don't really know anything about this guy but the way he vibes and holds himself is quite right."

He looks a pretty steady ESI to me.

I see this Se-type male who is “folded up” by introversion and Fi. Paul Newman gave off exactly the same vibes.

We probably do. Still, he vibes exactly like a few male ESI’s I know. Folded up by introversion is just how these guys feel to me. You might more accurately call it humility, or a tendency to underestimate themselves, or “still waters run deep”, or an aversion to drama or grandstanding, while still having an underlying current of strength.

It’s just my own reaction; thought I’d share.

Take a look at his wife. She looks LIE to me.

I get the feeling that if he and I knew each other in real life, we’d eventually become friends. Not right away; he’s too private. But eventually.

I'm not going to debate subjective impressions, but I scrolled quickly through this thread and noticed him getting a lot of flak for being smug, fyi
(This doesn't jump out at me nor shock me. Maybe it's because of something he says though, could be a lack of paying attention thing)

One man’s smug is another man’s clear understanding of his worth. Fi all over the street, girl.

I see this self-righteousness in ESI’s all the time. Some people might see it as smugness. I don’t.

If you dig into an ESI, you are going to hit this layer of implacable iron plate called Fi. Above it is all surfacy stuff. Below it is the weaker parts of the person they are.
