Default ENTp and Me (Round 2)

Ok, before my last thread was turned into a "My Type" thread all over again, I wanted to ask about the following...

Lately I've been interested in spotting fellow ENTps: I suspect both my logic teacher and a religion teacher that lives in my dorm of being ILE, as well as a recent acquaintence.

So what I'm really getting at here is this: what makes me ILE? What do you notice about me, or any other ENTp here on the board, that makes our type apparent to you? What are our trademarks? I know what to look for in other types, but to be honest, my own has always been a bit of a mystery to me; I suspect that I may have mistyped a few people as IEE or LII who are, in reality, ILE.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I don't know if you noticed, but that topic is in the "What's my type?" forum. That could lead to a certain misinterpretation of your intentions.

Abundant punctuation that removes any chance of ambiguity. Who else ever has a need for semicolons?

I agree with everything FDG said in Part 1 of this thread.

I find ENTps a very difficult type to spot, and I'm pretty sure that I've missed a few -- I also usually first notice the NT in them, especially the , and then I decide that they're more likely ENTps than the others.

My brother is ENTp, and I have identified at least another one whom I knew well. Something I noticed is that they are perhaps the type most ill at ease regarding "bonding" with someone else, in the sense of developing emotional intimacy -- they either develop it or not, with clear dividing lines. That would almost make them seem "introverted" in the common use of the word, except that they can relate in a superficial, often jokey manner, with most everyone; but there's a clear dividing line. My brother and I have no deep emotional connection at all.

Speaking of which, Dmitri Lytov has typed former British PM John Major as ENTp; I don't know if I agree, but there is an eerie similarity of vibes between Major and my brother. It's like - - being distant but not reserved, can talk easily to most people but not in an ENFj or ESFp way. Which results in many people actively disliking them.

If you're not ENTp, you're INFp, INTj, ISFp, ENFj, or ESTp. This socionics identity crisis issue testifies to it.

Have you spent much time considering INTj intuitive subtype? I get mirror vibes from you.

That's an interesting response...please explain. What's giving you mirror vibes here, and how do you see the difference in behavior between INTj intuitive subtype and ENTp?

I think INTj is a possibility. However, I identify with Ne dominant descriptions (like the one at socionics.us) readily, and I'd need to see a reason other than "vibes," some kind of observation, before actively considering it.

    Is this you?

"Observation of the possibilities afforded by readiness states for impulsive external action."

Like when you mentioned (to me) thinking "road trip!" when you see a van. A road trip is a social state of readiness. It's not just a ride in a van, but a tradition: a social state of unconscious readiness.

    Yeah, it does, actually.

I think it's odd how your crosstype stuff seems like complete nonesense, but what you say about it resonates with me just as much, if not more, than anything I hear about any socionics type.

That's because it seems I'm the only one willing to fight for it. The theory is not yet complete, which means it cannot yet find its community destiny in somone. (that, and I couldn't explain all the facts to them in the first place.)

I suspect xxxx types control social norms... somehow. Arguing against a social norm is a very lonely experience.

Because ALL of it (yes, even socionics) is like horoscopes, which is why the profiles and descriptions, etc. all seem to fuzzily match everyone at times.
But that doesn't explain why the things that he says resonate with me more than socionics descriptions.

I totally disagree. I'd say it varies dependent on the individual. I am most lonely when I pretend to fit in.
