    Default Futurama and Home Movies

Help me type the characters from these TV shows.

Brenden, the main character of Home Movies, reminds me of myself.

Not an extensive watcher myself, but I'll share my tentative impressions:

The show itself is pretty clearly Alpha/Delta in nature, IMO.

    Fry: H-IEE-Ne 7w6 so/sx
    Leela: C-LSE-Te 8w9 sp/sx
    Bender: D-SLI-Te 9w8 sx/so
    Amy: C-SEI-Fe 2w3 sx/so
    Professor: C-ILE-Ti 5w6 sx/so
Hermes: not sure; Ne/Si, likely ethical and introvert, 9w1 so/sp.
Zap Brannigan: D-LIE-Te 3w2 so/sx (the show's mockery of a typical American male/Se-valuing logical extrovert)
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Something makes me think Fry is an ILE. It could be that he's just stupid, but what I tend to associate stereotypically with ILEs is one of those over-the-top stupids where we're actually smart, but prefer to say stupid things in the most bizarre ways for entertainment, similarly to Peter Griffin, and occasionally doing stupid things.

Yeah I'm stuck between ENFp and ENTp for Fry. I think his character is meant to be so comedically Ne that they didn't give him any judging functions lol.

If he's not pretending, then it could just be Ti-PoLR . No really, if he has a more serious tone mixed with that humor, then IEE seems likely. Peter Griffin by comparison shows more Ti, and comes across more jokey like he's trying to be funny.

Hmm, that's a good point maybe. But Peter Griffin is very likely E7, so he's probably gonna be more joking anyways.

To get a better sense of Fry's functions, I would recommend watching the episode where he gets those brain worms that make him smart.

That is in fact my favorite episode of the entire show.

Yeah I'd imagine Ne-ENFp would work best for him.

I'm hard pressed to name a favorite episode, but that is definitely one of them.

I've never been huge on Futurama, but Home Movies used to be one of my favorite shows.

It's been a long time, so these are tentative:

    Brendon - ILE
    Melissa - LSE
    Jason - SEI (SLI)
    B's mom - IEE
    Coach McGuirk - SLE (LSI)
“Whether we fall by ambition, blood, or lust, like diamonds we are cut with our own dust.”

    Zoidberg - ISFp-Si
Bender - ESTp-Se (a typical TV show illusionary relation, you could say, like Brian and Peter from FG.)
Amy - ESFp-Se (contrary actually describes well that one episode where she and Fry got together, their overall relational distance and some superficial likeness.)
Professor - INTp-Xx (introverted and private, philosophical, has a more cynical laid-back attitude, and of the same mindset/zone as Amy. INTp works better with relations.)
Leela - ENFp-Fi (semi-duality with Fry makes really good sense, and how he doesn't live up to her expectations of Te.)
    Hermes - ESTj-Te?
The Professor is a clear ILE. His inventions are repeatedly mocked by his peers for their impracticality. Yet he desperately craves acceptance from the scientific community. There are plenty of cynical ILE. For example, Einstein was pretty cynical about a wide range of subjects. He also does not exhibit the "introverted and private" qualities that you are ascribing to him.

I like these typings a lot better than your Simpsons typings. They all seem like possible types for these characters.

They're all based on the same types/information elements *shrug*. Maybe we perceive the characters somewhat differently.

I see, but maybe you were more accurate on judging the types/information elements this time around? It could also be because we perceive the characters differently.
