    Default Is it remotely possible im an INFP?

    Ok,

    Have been thinking strange thoughts lately. I have always seen myself of an ENFP and that is also including Myers Briggs aswell. Lately, i have been thinking there is a possibility im actually an INFP.

    What got me thinking about this is my relationship with an ESFP. We are dating and the Partial Duality Description seems amazingly accurate, although it could just be because we are both F its the drama that makes it seem like we are doing something to stop our closeness?

    I have read the INFP description and a lot of it makes sense however there are some strange parts that dont GEL. Every personality test i have done i have selected extravert but if im really honest, im only rarely like that. Lately at work i have been very quiet, entering into conversations every now and then. I like my home time and haven't been going out heaps for a long time now(although maybe im slightly depressed?) lol. I dont know its all too confusing. Its probablly likely im a just a low key ENFP but anyone with experience help me answer this?

    What would you need to know about me? or can you already tell?

    Thanks

    That's why I find those tests that test only for the four letters (E/I, S/N, F/T, P/J) so confusing.

    In MBTI, it's easy. If you're sure about the NFP bit, then being extraverted makes you an ENFP, being introverted makes you an INFP. Easy. In Socionics, it all depends on what actual function-attitudes you're using. "Being an introvert" in MBTI translates as "having an introverted function as your primary function" in socionics. So, if you're sure you're an introverted intuitive feeler, this means that you use either introverted intuition or introverted feeling as your first function:
    • INFj = Fi Ne
      INFp = Ni Fe

    As you'll see, an "introverted ENFp" isn't an INFp (as you might expect when you read the type name). It's an INFj.
    • ENFp = Ne Fi
      INFj = Fi Ne

    Of course you could simply be a depressed ENFp. ENFps seem to be called the most introverted of all extraverted types, so perhaps it's normal for ENFps to be quiet and to need time alone.

    Socionics ENFps can be rather shy/quiet much of the time. (I think ENFps have been called the shyest of the extroverted types.) MBTI's methodology differs from Socionics (if you want, you can take a look at Rick's rant in the General section, lol). You may also want to take a look at the ENFj and ENTp descriptions as people tend to confuse these types with each other much of the time.

    I personally tend to think of ENTps as the shyest of the extroverted types. Perhaps it's Ne dominants?
