How the fuck did I miss this one?
The Gathering had finesse and accuracy and more metal classicism, this one fucking crushes! Direct hit/s -- extreme metal sounds indirect up against this one imo.

I love Bach's keyboard Toccatas - they demonstrate an extraordinary union of melodic invention and structural coherence. Each theme within the piece is developed from a germ, or small thematic unit, which is then passed between the voices and either expanded, broken down, or both at the same time (in different voices). While almost all classical music is fundamentally built in this way, there is also a significant economy to Bach's music in that the intuitive aspect (thematic generation) is minimal, which saves both energy and time. His creativity arises through his ability to manipulate the themes in various ways (logic) and no doubt this is why he was so industrious. I am analyzing the themes at the beginning of both these pieces right now...I can now see some of the tricks Bach has used and will try them out myself tomorrow.

listened to this the whole way through a few times and it's a really nice way to make repetitive activities fun, really entrancing and energetic, esp for when you need to kill 10,000 crabs to harvest one item that may or may not exist and you need something to keep you from quitting.
