Default Enneagram type 6 is a myth

E6 doesn't correspont to anything socionics-related; I've heard that any type can be an E6.
There's an odd number of enneagram types, which makes comparrisons unnecessarily complex and makes lining them up by twos impossible.
    I don't know any E6s.

Eliminate the outlier. If you are an enneagram 6, you are either mistyped or a myth.

Is he a myth? Why is he an E6? Process of elimination?

no, definitely not. The E6 "sin" is anxiety/fear. They're very loyal, trustworthy, hardworking and responsible. Their fixation is trying to construct security for themselves so that they can handle their fears. That's what his entire life consists of.

As am I. Kelly is also a pretty clear E6 imo.

And it's not process of elimination. From my perspective, E6's seem to define themselves by their relationships.

One of the common opinions on this forum that surprised me was this "universality" of 6. I think any socionics type can be any Enneagram type, but 6 seems very specific, not at all "any other person". Maybe I see it so clearly because I've known at least two, including my mother.

I don't get this idea of unifying enneagram and socionics. Enneagram is influenced by nurture more than nature, while socionics is supposedly all nature, isn't it? Some correlation is obvious enough (i.e. most 5's being introverts), but it's more due to tendency to perceive events in a particular way than any direct relation.

you can't get rid of me

But seriously, the only other thing I could be is 9, and I'm way too introspective/head-centered for that.

Although I do have green eyes. Myth?

trinity is as legitimate a basis for logical inference as duality. just hard to fathom the differences...

Or perhaps if you think about the fact that every E type has two wing combinations making there realistically 18 types in the enneagram you could find certain ideal pairings for each type. Perhaps nothing so exclusive as duality but certain pairings are more probable than others, I would guess.

Heck, if you wanted to you could say that the 6 types (6w5 and 6w7) are "universal" meaning that there are 16 enneagram types that match with 16 socionics types and two neutral enneagram types that could be universally applied. I don't actually believe that's true, but I guess if you wanted to take the time you might be able to prove something of the sort.

I was partially serious. I'm annoyed that I can't arrange enneagram in two straight lines and haven't experienced an E6 any more than I've experienced Santa Clause. So it would be personally convenient if they were a myth.

well you could go for ONE straight line. What about the circle thing? that's pretty orderly, don't you think? Plus 9 is equally divisible by 3. Doesn't that count for anything?

That counts for something, but the circular chart is weird. There's the triangle, then that goofy shape with an open end. How'd they come up with that? What's wrong with using three triangles?

You could arrange it on a 3x3 grid with instinct centers as one axis and object relations as the other.

No. I can relate very much to 1w2 sp/sx, and I personally know examples of the other types.

That too. It's a cheap filler. And it gave my little brother 5 cavities. (It could have been because he didn't brush his teeth, but he's an avid apple juice drinker and I'd rather blame it on that.)
