I still see a strong value for both Ti/Fe and Se/Ni all in all. IEI had been my second option, after realizing that you weren't an Ne ego. I don't think EII is a good typing, but IEI seems like it could be it if you don't relate to having a Ti ego and relate to being a strongly sympathetic and emotional "NF." I'm quite certain you're a beta. It looks like you need to look at some better profiles perhaps, because there are some stereotypes about Fe and Fi you mention which are difficult to discern and agree with.

Have any better profile descriptions than what's available on wikisocion and socionics.com?

This thread is about my dad, not me
Sorry but life doesn't work out like that. This thread is about whatever it will turn into about, when you involve other people. So the focus of attention could turn anywhere, from you or me....or about pink cats. It's only natural. You can't take any conversation and say 'Okay we are going to talk about THIS, stay on topic' ......because .....the natural flow of social conversation just isn't that stifled or dogmatic.

    ;p

Also it's even more deeper and estoeric than just what I'm saying here. Your dad exists because of you (and you definitely exist because of him), you are an extension of him-50%. Without you there would be him and without him there would be no you, he created you. There's no space or end between where he ends and you begin. SO THIS THREAD IS ABOUT YOU JUST AS MUCH AS IT IS YOUR DAD..... PARENT RELATIONSHIPS ARE WAY TOO MIXED TO THINK OF YOURSELF AS A PRIVATE IDENTITY.

Which tends to bug the crap out of me. I've developed a habit where I ask the same question over and over again because I often feel ignored

Well then would it be relevant to talk about my mom too?

Don't worry it would be in a separate thread, plus there is no nudity in this story. Besides I'm already fairly certain of her type, as much as she is certain of her type.

Oh I want to hear about the mom.

whoops sorry I'm talking about my brother now

    Meet Alex

    1. The first thing anybody will notice about him is his complete lack of facial expressiveness. I'm almost certain that this isn't type related, and instead he suffers from a flat affect. He was tested for autism when he was an infant but he was not diagnosed. He also has a bad stutter, and he's gone to several classes and speech therapy sessions but nothing's really stuck.

    2. He loves to sing (painfully poorly) and act (not as poorly). He also loves to write (I can't judge the quality of his work) and wishes to make screenplays and/or manga for a living. I personally think he likes to sing and act because they're the only times when he doesn't stutter, but that's just a guess.

    3. I find that he's good with his manual artistry. He's a good artist, or at least he was when he was much younger (much better than me). He's also pretty good at origami, making lots of geometric designs that seem very well balanced and symmetrical.

    4. As you can tell from the above picture, he's ridiculously skinny, even skinnier than me. He never seems to have much of an appetite, and when he eats a lot my mom likes to compliment him, probably as a way to encourage him to eat more.

    5. It seems like he's starting to take a lot of mannerisms from my dad (well, his dad too). Dad seems to have taken it upon himself to become Alex's mentor: he likes to tell Alex how to live life and will sit him down in a secluded area and talk about life lessons. As such, Alex basically does anything that Dad tells him to do. For example, he now has no problem sleeping naked in an area visible from the kitchen. Also, he no longer drains the bath water after he takes a bath, and instead transfers the dirty bath water to the lawn through a hose. Which leads me to this:

    6. From my perspective, he seems to have no initiative. He's very unaware about how the world works, and as such needs he someone to tell him what to do at all times.

    7. The only thing Alex and I ever did together was play video games, and even that is a tangled story. When we were little kids I'd always lose at video games, then throw temper tantrums saying things like "let me win" or "you have no sympathy." Now, it seems as if the tables have turned, where Alex loses more often and he complains that "the controller is busted" or "the game is rigged." And it seems to me that he wholeheartedly believes in what he says.

That's all I got for now

If I had to guess, Arctures (and I don't, but I will anyway ), I'd say your brother is SLI. #1 indicates to me Fe PoLR. #3 suggests Sensing, probably Si. And if, as I suspect, your dad is in fact LSE, then #5 makes a lot of sense, as they would be Mirrors.

My best guess at this time as to your own type, Arctures, is LII. This is based on the other thread about your type as well as this one, and also to a large degree on the fact that I find your posts on theoretical socionics to be logical and easy to read in an LII way. If all this is the case, you would be your brother's Benefactor, and your father's Mirage. Do those make sense to you?

The only issue I have with this is your comment on 1. I don't really think his lack of expressiveness and alexithymia (lol get it) is related to socionics, rather to his flat affect. It's not that he doesn't particularly have emotions, he just doesn't have a strong physical capacity to express them naturally.

I think it does. Although I don't really recall any posts I've made wherein I discuss functions at an anywhere near adept or accurate level but I appreciate you saying so

Has he actually been diagnosed with this, or is this just your theory? Either way, it seems to me that severe PoLR Fe could be mistaken for a flat affect. PoLR Fe doesn't lack emotions, they just find them difficult to handle and feel uncomfortable with the expression of them.

Keep in mind that this is all just preliminary speculation, to be refined as further data is uncovered. You know your brother better than I do.

Well, this is embarrassing -- I just realized I may have been confusing your posts with someone else's! I've only been posting here a couple of months, I'm still getting everyone straight in my head (and it doesn't help that people keep changing their names!). Still, your posts are logical and straightforward enough that my brain saw no reason to distinguish between you and the other guy.

Really? I would love to hear all the evidence and logical deductions you used to arrive at this unassailable conclusion!

(I'm not ruling out LII, but seriously, it annoys me when people scoff at the opinions of others without providing any evidence or support for their own views.)

Arctures, I can definitely see a movie inspired by your family, ala "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"

I also know what the nude dad thing is like.

He's been officially diagnosed as having a flat affect yes. My parents told me about his diagnosis and their autism scares. They like to reassure me that "he has emotions, he just can't express them easily."

That doesn't detract the fact that I consider what you said a compliment, so still thanks

A movie about my family would encur several episodes of my parents yelling at each other with quick cut shots to me crying on the porch.
unless that happened in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, I never saw it

Epiphany Edit: my dad resembles George W. Bush in many many ways. Whatever type GWB is, that is most assuredly the type of my dad.

I agree with Krig, your brother sounds like he could be SLI.
