Default i'm looking for a better word then HATE

i told the people at my table that i hate everyone. it's not the best word - i mostly don't like anyone until i really know them. but i couldn't think of the right word. it's not hate, some seem to be offended by that word.

is there a good word that can describe a general dislike for people. and not narcisist. something just more gentle and nicer sounding.

    thanks

You're what we call a scrooge.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I always thought "hating" everyone was more an INTp thing, as opposed to a sheer obliviousness, or indifference that INTjs have....

Just explain that your the man, and that your INT(j or p, whatever you are), and that will leave them wondering, and leave you alone.

I "generally" dislike people, but it's more true that I generally don't enjoy people, or am attracted to meeting new people, etc. Call them unneccesary, or irrelevant, or something to that effect. It (may) not be that you hate them, just that are not compelled to 'like' them in the same way others are.

Wheredid this incident occur, and what was the general context

Maybe this is a version people persons might be able to understand? It's a bit long.

"I usually don't feel drawn to people at first sight. It takes me some time to get to know someone and make friends with them. Sometimes I meet someone and instantly like them, but in general it's not as if I see people and go 'whee, you're all lovely, jump into my arms!' I'm pretty independent, I guess. Meeting lots of new people, chit-chatting about trivial stuff - ugh. I like things to the point and directed towards a purpose, and anything to do with people is usually just the opposite of that. I hate that."

(Sorry for the lousy English, I hope it's clear what I mean.)

Well. I don't like to use the word hate(too powerful of a word to me). But I use irritated or annoyed instead of the word hate.

I have told my children that, and now they believe it. I guess you could say, "I'm not a people person' or "I prefer my own company".

Hmm you could always just tell people you are quite distant and its your preference when it comes to those who are unfamiliar to you.

You do not hold humans in high regard. My INTj ex likes the word "disgust".

Hmm, aren't INTps sort of misanthropic?

Is there a negative twist on things, MIKE INTJ or is it just an indifference

I like people in general, just not spending time with all of them. When I complain about people as a whole, it's usually a cover-up for the fact that I want to like everyone but am worried they won't reciprocate. I don't know how other INTps feel about it.

INTps = "We hate you because we love you."

Yeah, misanthropic is a good word to use for INTjs.

See, I don't neccesarily want to like everyone.
I really am rather indifferent in that area.

you could say you perfer to be reticent.
    Kind of ironic, isn't it.
    "I prefer not to talk"

HOwever, if an INTx did want to start a conversation, there you go, you could just talk about not talking.
