ENTj profile by Stratiyevskaya: revised version
Below my own version of the functional description by Stratiyevskaya. I think it's much easier to understand, but I also think the "original" should be read, too.
I assumed that in most cases the ENTj is male and the ISFj, female, for purposes of clarity only.
Block EGO * the 1st position * * "business logic"
There is no larger misfortune for the LIE than the impossibility to find a proper use to their business qualities. Their entire life is a search for the possibilities to maximally realize their strengths, mind and abilities in interesting and promising activities.
The LIE’s business qualities are manifested in evaluating the objective possibilities, according to specific conditions and situations. The LIE’s only design is that they will not rely on their own volitional efforts - it is inexpedient, especially because in the life still there exist success, luck and other objective conditions, on which they have the sense to apply their skill and business qualities. The LIE considers generally senseless to constrain themselves with unfavorable circumstances - it is better to attempt to change conditions. "Sisyphean labor" are not for them.
Representatives of this type actively fight for the equally fair conditions and the equally great possibilities for all. The LIE fights for the restoration of fairness - they try to achieve that which is rightfully their due.
If there is no possibility to restore fairness, they search for new places, where their point of view will be heard and where their work will be worthily evaluated. Representatives of this type are constantly situated in the search for the best conditions and the greater possibilities of application for their business qualities. For them it’s characteristic the frequent change of professions, the change of the place of the residence: it did not work out here - they try new places, new possibilities. They are - "pioneers". It was impossible to fulfill themselves in one region, boldly they pass into another, until finally they find for themselves satisfaction.
They prefer to attain high EFFICIENCY by the reasonable and rational distribution of their forces. For this very reason, representatives of this type do not have equal on the part of development and introduction of new technologies, rational and effective organization of working process; they magnificently generate interesting rationalization ideas, they are the authors of many advanced technologies and procedures.
The LIE - ardent enemy of all irrational and ineffective method of operations. Organizing production, value is attached to material encouragement and personal interest of its workers. ([--].)
They prefer work with specific practical application, not tempted by the abstract and removed projects.
They are not capable to start something in spite of their own opinion (in spite of their own idea about the common sense). They examine each activity from the point of view of its expediency ("and otherwise, why?"). They love to work and know how to carry out work [ -- ] ("and otherwise, why?").
They consider it expedient to be occupied by the matters that bring high profits. They try not to deal with trifles (they do not engage in criminal business, in spite of the promising incomes, since this does not allow their system of moral values, to which they are subconsiously oriented.)
The LIE loves to earn money [ -- ], they love to spend it without considering. They do not love to save money, nor to reject the customary pleasures. To put off or to accumulate them - they do not always know how. Most easily of all the LIE spends the money, which was gotten "easily" (as the gain or the gift). Usually not inclined to the adventurous projects, the LIE is capable to pack "light" money into the enterprise, is not too thorough in terms of thought out and counted.
The LIE does not forgive himself failure and errors in the work, but outwardly preserves calmness and optimism: "on the errors they learn."
No hairsplitter. They hate hairsplitters. The LIE counts: you know how to earn - you have the right to spend. More easily they more freely spend large sums - more heavily they part with small ones, because of which, with the entire latitude of nature, the impression of stingyness is produced. Independently of income level, the LIE prefers to buy expensive things, taking into account their quality.
They do not love to be occupied by repairing, repair, alteration. The LIE prefers to earn well and to purchase new things. Or to hire people to do it for them.
In the difficult hours they do not schew hard work, if it is paid well. The LIE does not love small routine work, does not love to study details, does not love to be "on the pickup", [ -- ]", does not love the dull, passive labor.
The ENTj does not suffer, and does not allow, outside control regarding his behavior, his time and quality of its work - distrust is considered by the LIE as insulting. Both in business and in the personal life, mutual confidence is considered the standard of relationships.
They try not to get involved with con people, they hate [ - - ] swindle, "dishonest game", [ -- ]".
The ENTj prefers to promise a little less, but then to make a little more. He is farsighted. His actions are evaluated from the point of view of their consequences. He can’t suffer irresponsibilities in any kind of relationship.
The ENTj does not love to check the work of others in the process of fulfillment - he prefers to evaluate the final result.
They do not love to depend on strangers for a timetable, or on their initiative; therefore they prefer the work, where they can be the owner: to assign own rate, to make own plan, to establish own standard. They do not love to work with a sluggish partner.
Excellent leader and organizer. The LIE knows how to distribute work with respect to possibilities and abilities of each. Immediately he evaluates people according to his business, level of qualification and abilities. The work, which he undertakes, he carries out always with the enthusiasm, he is rapid and qualitative.
Bureaucratic red-tape the ENTj sees as great evil - that what extremely irritates him, kills his business activity and depresses him. The need for living under the conditions, where his business qualities do not find application, where his labor does not obtain adequate payment - that oppresses the LIE. He tries not to stay under such conditions for long. The LIE is dynamic. Easily they adapt to new conditions, they stably transfer burdens and deprivations. (especially, if he knows that in the course of time this will be worthily profitable.)
Representatives of this type magnificently work in the extreme conditions [ --]. Specifically, in the extreme situation the LIE most brightly manifests his willpower qualities, endurance, composure, business keenness, and also the skill to accurately calculate his time, force and possibility (after being weakened, it can generally forget about the time).
Never the ENTj gives up before the difficulties - he will mobilize all his energies in order to overcome them.

The ENTj knows how to see the advantages, allowed to him by time. His business qualities are manifested most brightly under the conditions for convenient and advantageous for it temporary relations (?). They know how to see the benefit of the future changes, just as they know how to see hopelessness and lack of promise of "depression periods".
The LIE knows how to see and to estimate the moment, in which possibilities will be opened, and the knows how to use all those goods and advantages, which he possesses. He knows how to be adapted to the difficult times and to suffer them with the damage smallest for himself.
He knows how to force time to work for him. [ --]. He knows how to hurry and knows how to wait. He knows when it is necessary to act decisively, and when it is necessary to be stored up by patience and to wait out. [ -- ]
The LIE possesses all necessary qualities in order to adapt his behavior to the conditions of the indeterminate and unstable situation. For example, he knows how not to reveal his weaknesses when in business (?) - in order not to place himself in the unfavorable position. He knows how to be self-possessed and patient, whatever stress this costs him. He knows how not to reveal his incompetence - in order not to drop his prestige. He knows how not to encourage in vain - in order not to create about himself an image of irresponsible person (although in this, unfortunately, he does not always succeed).
Under unfavorable circumstances, he alternates decisive actions with the periods of oscillations, doubts and idleness.
In the period of duration (?) it is difficult for him to be switched to any other activity; therefore sometimes is created impression, that he loafs. (many ENTjs consider themselves lazy persons, although in reality – [ --].)
The ENTj hates the periods of the forced idleness and expectation for reasons independent of him: this literally knocks him out of the track. In such periods it is not always capable to be switched to another work - indeed to him, as to any rational person, are inconvenient (?)[ --], confusion and confusion in the affairs.
The LIE prefers the saturated rhythm of life and itself he feels well, when his day is painted on the hours and, to the limit it is condensed by interesting and pressing matters.
And at the same time it would be naïve to assume that with his entire rationality the ENTjs adheres to his own timetable - he is sufficiently dynamic and easily he is adapted to a change in the circumstances. His intuition of time is subordinated to the interests of the matter at hand, to the interests of expediency; therefore he constantly introduces correctives into his order of day (which in turn can be expressed in such incidents as delay of the business meeting assigned, or two business meetings, assigned simultaneously in two distant places.)
It does not make sense to ask an ENTj about the time of his return home or about his plans for the evening. He definitely will not answer these questions with his entire rationality (moreover, such questions irritate him.) Leaving the house, he automatically is converted in the "hunter after the success", which directs already his intuition. Therefore even to the LIE himself it is approximately unknown, how long will be prolonged his work (his business) day (which greatly complicates life to his households).
It is not characteristic of the ENTj to deal on his matters under the limits of his timetable. For example, to throw the incompleted work and to break into a run to a meeting - that he can only do in the case of the relationships significant for him (precisely such "victim" he requires of, at first, of the dualization of its dual ISFj.) (?)
In the childhood the ENTjs also do not love to compose to themselves the clear order of the day: [--] while he sits at home and makes lessons, in the garden something very interesting will happen, which requires his participation. [ --]
With the favorable circumstances, the order of the day of the ENTj is most frequently condensed precisely: it can be noted at the lecture in the institute, then break into a run to the coin-operated telephone to settle some of his affairs, then run off somewhere to earn extra money and after in all to return to listen to the lecture. Or: to ask for leave to the week from his duties, to leave into other country, to alter there the heap of the matters, to call on relatives, to tie business connections, to again return to his duties, and in two days to make up entirely what had been missed.
If the "business day" of the ENTj is not filled sufficiently with serious matters, this is the accurate sign of the fact that he is undergoing heavy times (The LIE hates idleness, but unproductive expenditure of time and energies he hates still more).
The ENTj is irritated by any unforeseen expenditure of time. Sluggishness in all its manifestations irritates him, for example, when someone slowly talks. Most of all the ENTj is irritated when someone slowly goes or slowly will go before him. Traffic jams are the most monstrous torture for him.
The ENTj can’t stand to wait (although frequently he makes it necessary to wait for others.) For him, there is nothing more foolish than to stand on the bus stop in the expectation of transport. Therefore the ENTjs, as far as possible, try to have their transportation means, even if this is any old bicycle. They prefer to walk on foot after the absence of personal transport.
LIEs adore fast rides. And it is useless to fight this. In spite of their practicalness, they are ready to pay whatever convenient penalty, but they will not refuse themselves this pleasure.
The ENTj loves the quick rhythm of work, generally loves to make everything rapidly, [ -- ], so that the process of preparation for the work would be minimum on the time - otherwise no longer it is desirable to make work itself. He loves to make entire work rapidly and well, and then with the pleasure to rest in the pleasant company.
He does not love to walk on the stores and to make purchases, since he does not love to stand in queues, and, furthermore, to him it is difficult to evaluate the quality of things. To walk on the alleys, to sit in the turns cannot suffer (for the same reason it does not love to go to the doctors.) (?)
The ENTj is irritated by the need for being distracted from work to give explanations, which he already gave many times gave; it irritatesm hi, when to him they shift unexpected work and by these break his plans (the ENTj is not at all pleased, when someone breaks his plans – it is another matter, when he himself changes them.)
Its mottoes - "time does not await" and "time - money". Its time actually is expensive. Its plans are flexible and are dynamic. To it is convenient the partner, who considers himself his plans and it is adjusted slightly under them. (that subconsiously makes its dual - Dreiser.)

Sometimes the impression is created, that it is not entirely clear to the ENTj, why he was given emotions and what he should do with them; sometimes the appears to people under the mask of simple-minded jovial merry fellow, a "into the board" kinf of fellow, in other times he appears with showy severity.
As a rule, the emotions of the ENTj are subordinated to his reason and are manifested in that form, in which they are necessary in the interests of the matter. In the "interests of the matter" the ENTj cannot at all reveal his emotions, or to express something the opposite so that he now survives.
In the contact he manifests the friendliness, knows how to be communicable, diplomaticallly he tries to find common language in any company, he knows how to be charming [ --]. He values a good humor, joke, charges all by his merriment and optimism, he loves to tell anecdotes and because of this characteristic, the ENTjs soothens and calms his eternally worried dual the ISFj.
Sometimes in the initial stage of dualization some problems appear with the not always appropriate small jokes of the ENTj, which sometimes bear the nuance of black humor; they appear, sometimes – with nature of foolish drawings. But worst of all for the ISFj the small jokes of the ENTj with the [ --] (?), which do not simply repulse the ISFj, but they precisely reject him to such distant psychological distance, from which it is then not possible it to return. Associating with the ISFj, the ENTj becomes selective in all forms of his sharpnesses.
The same occurs also with the manner of the ENTj "emotionally to be expressed": his emotional lexicon substantially becomes poor during ISFj’s lifetime. In the company of his dual the LIE tries to be polite and so that in the course of time this becomes an integral part of its behavior.
Under the mask of joker and jovial merry fellow the LIE frequently attempts to hide his experiences and feelings from strangers. But this can never be hidden from his dual. The ISFj requires of the ENTj the sincere, frank emotions, which correspond to the right situation.
The ENTj does not express emotional pressure on himself - he is more precise, he transfers as the natural calamity: his entire will is gathered into the cam even patiently he waits out, until this testing ends. That, who wants to become a good partner of any of the representatives of this type, one should know [--] and the ENTj cannot be reproached (although he frequently provokes that by hus behavior): not this will lead to what positive results, but relationships it will spoil so, that to repair them will be then practically impossible.
The ENTj generally painfully survives negative emotions from the side of those surrounding. For example, when they demonstrate offence, irritation, hostility, antipathy to him. He cannot stand it, when hysterics are arranged, they provoke jealousy or scandal. This frightens him. The ENTj, with external alertness and [--], is nevertheless friendly, peaceful and ivery benevolent.
No offence, any sufferings he wants to cause anyone (even inadvertently). Greatly he fears to produce on someone unpleasant impressions, to leave about himself poor memory, poor opinion. Therefore he constantly needs ethical correction from the side of partner, which to him most comfortably, it goes without saying, in the partnership with its dual, to ethical values of which the ENTj is subconsiously oriented.
For example, if someone turns to the LIE with a difficult to achieve request, he tries not to reject (even, when he previously knows that the request is impracticable, he does not reject in the categorical form, since he is subconsiously disposed to the vulnerable ethics of his dual the ISFj, which usually receives the flat refusal as the break of relations.)
The most difficult ethical situation for the ENTj - when his partner deeply is locked in herself (this state in the crisis situation, the ENTj characteristically accepts as alarm signal.) The uncertainty of his expressed emotions properly pricks up ears and seriously it disturbs. He literally begins to fee bad himself, [ --]. In such minutes he walks around the partner by circles, [--] looking intently at her face and attempting to understand what is happening. From his side he is prepared to go for any concessions, to do everything in his power, provided only that he takes partner away from this state.
The ENTj is capable of easily and rapidly converging with the people: LIEs as no one know how "to outgrow" by friends. However, it would be incorrect to consider that representatives of this type make it possible to easily conquer their attachment. The ENTj is far from allowing everyone to get close. They are very distrustful - and in this they are very similar to their dual ISFj. Furthermore, LIEs know that they do not always know how correctly how to dettach themselves from people (their entire life this they learn). They do not love to become acquainted "blindly". They do not love, when by them tie some acquaintances. But on the close distance they are trusting, and fair too.
To deceive the confidence of the ENTj: that means, to forever lose his friendship and respect. ENTjs very painfully survive disappointment in the friendship and in the love, since devotion and faithfulness for them are the most important ethical values. For the abuse of its confidence the ENTjs resent (?), although they are not vindictive by nature. They do not suffer lie, hypocrisy, injustice, insult in any form, violence and humiliation. The manifestation of any of these phenomena simply does not irritate - it enrages them. [--]
Hot temper for the ENTjs - unnatural state. Usually they are the calm and balanced people (most frequently - phlegmatic persons on the temperament.) LIEs try to check their emotions, they avoid contact with those, who clearly irritate them. [ --] .
Associating on the distant distance with the unfamiliar person, ENTjs, sometimes without the visible reason, "let out prickles". (they declare themselves "lone wolf".) It is necessary to possess outstanding ethical courage in order to turn to this "prickly ENTj" with the affectionate word. Fortunately, for his dual ISFj this presents no problems. In the external prickliness of the ENTj the ISFj sees only deeply complex ?) soul, who requires exceptionally cautious relationship. Personally the prickliness of the ENTj in no way frightens away the ISFj, but on the contrary, even pleasantly it tones up. An ISFj sufficiently confident in herself is capable to tame the most unapproachable "lone wolf".

The ENTj frequently experiences the sensation of discomfort with himself and with his surroundings. In his motions frequently it is observed the constraint, and sometimes also [ --]. Angularity and tension in combination with the awkwardness.
The LIE is irritated, when discomfort is experienced. He is irritated because shames him. He does not understand, why, for example, manifesting endurance in the extreme situations, under the normal conditions he becomes receptive to such trifles.
He badly feels the measure for its sensations. Therefore to himit is necessary the partner, who would feel this for him, which would know his tastes, his habits; which previously troubled about what sensations ENTj experiences in following second.
About himself the ENTj cannot care, and for this very reason concern from the side of partner must be maximally farsighted. It is important so that to the ENTj would be created all conditions for valuable leisure. It does not have value, it was occupied today by work or the whole day nothing made, but even if he recently awoke and immediately he went to watch TV, one ought not to grumble: it means, for it is now necessary "recharging" by some new impressions and by new information. Furthermore, precisely, in the period of the "forced hibernation" the ENTj experiences the strong uneasiness and stress.
When in his normal, "business regime", he generally very rarely makes possible for himself to rest and to be relaxed. Therefore, if ENTj is already prepared to leisure, it is not necessary to strain him: this greatly irritates him. It is not possible to move him from the place to the place, when he already rests (?), it is not possible to distract him at this moment by conversations or to call to the telephone. (although at the work site he can eat and work simultaneously.)
When the ENTj worries about himself, he does not relax. For him the concern about himself - this is only excess and not always expedient work, since in private life he is very unpretentious and can manage without much. However, assuming the concern of partner, the LIE seemingly calculates, that they will help him to be relaxed. Therefore he reacts very painfully to the least manifestation of discomfort. For example, the absence of hot water in the military facilities - this is normal, but the absence of hot water in his house at the moment of his arrival from the work - serious disappointment (why is it so important to ISFj to always know the time of his arrival from the work? - so that in this moment there would be always hot water and hot dinner, so that all matters in the house would be already finished and so that nothing it would prevent the ENTj from quietly resting.)
Female ENTjs are very unwillingly occupied by the housework (ENTj - housewife - this is generally an exceptional phenomenon, especially today). The need for being torn up between the house and the business especially irritates them: "I urgently should make telemarketing, and [ --], soup I cook, it on top of that ventured this harvesting..." Leave for the care of child female ENTj also tries to combine with the least propulsion period of its career: " thus it solved: thus far even in me entire work will be adjusted, thus far still I will computer master, language teach, 4 nevertheless houses I sit [--]
The female ENTj does not always successfully select for herself clothing and cosmetics (it must be noted, representatives of this type they are beautiful, most frequently with precisely their natural beauty, cosmetics seldom decorate them, even if makeup is applied by professional makeup technician.) Many representatives of this type, even with the classical beautiful appearance, consider themselves unattractive. Considering their face plain (moreover, completely undeservedly), they can hide it under the enormous black glasses, so that for all does remain riddle [--]
Most likely, this is - myth. The ENTj almost never is confident in his own taste, in the aesthetic value of his appearance, in the manners of his behavior, which, incidentally, leads to the excessive shyness, "prickliness". Badly he feels arrangement or hostile attitude to himself of those surrounding. He is not confident, which can cause sympathies or be dear (and its this colossal error!). Nor he appreciates he attractiveness. He has no special liking for himself.
In the holiday, ceremonial- official situation he feels itself bound. It is good for him, where the situation does not require parade and ceremonies: on nature, in the scaffolding, in the march, where they are permitted simple sport clothing, the natural behavior, which prevents affectation.
Sometimes the aesthetical self-appraisal of the LIE is so understated that he prefers to surround itself by clearly waning people, sometimes even with the physical deviations. Or he prefers rough, cheap pleasures in the company of people of understated social status.
Disorder in private life does not interfere with the ENTj. He is indifferent to the aesthetical qualities of things. Frequently in his clothing any aesthetical illogicality is present. Knowing this deficiency, ENTjs greatly do not love, when they are scrutinized into that. Therefore the ISFj never looks at the ENTj with her "penetrating" view (ISFj is generally not on the close psychological distance with those at whom they look in that manner) and never she makes observations relative to deficiencies in the ENTj’s appearance and clothing - she can either sincerely sympathize with him, dressed inconveniently or propose their participation in the solution of this problem, but criticize she will not, if he, of course, about this do not ask.
The manifestation of the concern about himself the ENTj receives as the expression of a good relationship. Only with this partner he properly relaxes, only to her he properly entrusts.
Obtaining a sufficient support according to his weak function, the LIE "is opened" for obtaining the information with its "suggestive" (suggested) function. But this already the theme of the following description.
Block OF SUPERID**Suggestive function * the "ethics of relations"
This function forms this type’s firmest values. It - "blind". It - is passive. It realizes subconsiously and seemingly is the depository of vital values and installations, which form the world view of the ENTj. This is - the indicator, with which he compares information about behavior of his surrounding people.
To the LIE it is necessary to know the motives of behavior, to know, who actually relates well to him, but whom it would not interfere and [--]. Since to the ENTj it is very difficult to understand and to analyze this, he needs someone, who excellently understands all details of interrelations and always whom he can always consult in every detail in this question. (precisely in this is his dual ISFj out of the competition.)
Subconsiously oriented on high moral and moral installations, the ENTj is also defender and keeper of the most important ethical values. Friendship, love, devotion to the interests of the matter, to the interests of its "command" - the positive basis of its ethics, its ethical foundation.
Just as the ISFj, the ENTj imposes on partner very high ethical requirements, although he manifests a much greater tolerance to some insignificant deviations from the most important moral principles. In contrast to the ISFj, the ENTj does not always feel, when they deceive it: this he calculates logically, but, once after exposing partner in the lie, never he will forget or forgive.
The ENTj survives any crisis of relationships very painfully. And the most terrible for the ENTj, when partner either cannot or does not desire to remove him from this state. (the ISFj in this respect, in addition is more preferable than all other partners: she not only will not allow the crisis of relations, but even the least uncertainty in them she will not stand.)

And in the process of the formation of relationships the ENTj subconsiously calculates that the entire initiative for himself will take hjs partner. And the ISFj is actually predisposed to take entire ethical and volitional initiative upon herself, (if, of course, she is not too forged by prejudices.) From his side, the ENTj willingly takes to himself entire business initiative in the development of the relationship: he will always find the method to overcome any obstacles, any distances - main thing so that his partner would experience no difficulties or inconveniences.
The problem of ENTjs is the fact that the ISFj is the only psychological type, capable of taking upon herself initiative in the development of relationship (furthermore, as any dual, for the ENTjs the ISFj is least of all noticeable and is least attractive). Therefore ENTjs are frequently inferior to the initiative of the partners psychologically incompatible with them, which is especially painfully shown precisely in the period of the crisis of the relationship: partner- logicians, for example, possessing weak ethics, cannot derive relationship from the crisis, but the psychologically incompatible partner- ethics themselves are capable of provoking the complication of relationship in order to employ it as means of emotional action.
The ENTj always notices when someome tries to manipulate their emotions. On the other hand, he does not always know, how one should to this react. It is necessary time in order to be understood, what nature of relationship stands after all these manipulations. If he comes to the conclusion that this method of relations does not complicate his life too much, then completely he can be pulled into ethical game alien to him. Although, in principle, the ENTj recognizes no ethical games: he hates hypocrisy, double-facedness, falsity, insincerity; he cannot stand it, when he is deceived by cunning, when before some indeterminate ethical goals [--] are set.
ENTjs are not those partners, who easily are separated from their "legal half". In the case of strong psychological discomfort, and incapacity to change anything in the relationship, he can leave from the family. But to be “led astray”, even in the case of more attractive alternative – he won’t.
The LIE in the ethical plan is actually very conservative with the external ethical mobility, which creates to it additional problems in the case of alliance with the psychologically incompatible partners. The ISFj - only, who can guarantee the sheer absence of problems on the aspect of the ethics of relationships with the ENTj.

As has already been mentioned, the business qualities of the ENTj depend more on favorable ambient conditions, than on the personal willpower efforts. And nevertheless from its critical situation frequently is derived the precisely effort of will, which he decides to make - if not of the personal motives, then already at least in the interests of "his command", before which he always feels the great responsibility.
With their entire pragmaticality and practicalness the ENTjs have a habit to periodically "hover in the clouds". It would seem, that the LIE must not make inadvisable anything, since this contradicts the program of his intellect. And nevertheless his purposes sometimes turn around by mirages (since, as any intuitive, he does not always realistically look at things).
In this period much depends on how rapidly he will be able to make despite himself an effort of will, to forego the erroneous plans, to set before itself as a new goals and to be disposed on their realization.
The ENTj needs the partner, who can guide him to practical purposes and convince of the ephemerality of his previous concepts. To him it is very difficult to make a volitional effort, especially in the situation of the crisis of his plans. Therefore he is activated, when in his life appears the new purpose, corresponding to his program, which has positive sense, determinate direction and capability of real application of force.
