no children were allowed at my wedding. but partly that was because I had no nieces or nephews nor had any of my friends had kids yet. otherwise it might've been different.

I can see why not. Interestingly, I can't think of any weddings i've been at where there is children.

When/if I get married..the bride can decide this one!

If and when I married, I also want to keep my last name.

I know SO MANY women in my community who have done this, for whatever reason. And it's really annoying! I mean because once you have children your name is different from the family name and it gets confusing and creates more names that everyone has to learn. Unless there's some good reason for it (like you're already a well-known author or actress), why not simplify?

Solution: husband changes his name. Just to screw with social convention ;D

Yeah, I was wondering about that possibility.

this is what my brother and SIL did. Actually they both changed their last name to a combined version of both of their names (not hyphenated). So if they ever had kids, the kids would have the same last name. I think it's a perfectly fine solution.
