what do you think their types are?
Jake Gyllenhaal
he sounds like an N (based on his quotes).
Heath Ledger
he comes across as some ST to me.
as for the characters in the movie....
i think Jack Twist is an EXFp and Ennis Del Mar's an ISTp.

I'm not so sure, though

I dunno about the actors, but Heath Ledger's character was definitely ISTp. SOOOOOOOO much of that character reminded me of husband #1, an ESTj.
Movie: ESFp and ISTp
RL: I'd say ENFp (Gyllenhaal) and ISFp (Ledger).
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
hmm gilly.. jake does look enfp..........
he had a curiosity and openness ... that i identified with. i also read an article where he said something like he didnt think the characters were actually gay, which i feel is very telling about the type of thinking he has. Since i identified, i started with INTx as the type. but you're right, he looks enfp.
i agree Heath looks very ST. i had been wondering about his type since he was photographed out and about with his current partner Michelle Williams. I remembered that she had had a really bad breakup with the boyfriend before Heath, and i'd generally beend doing some thinking about relationships and comparative relationships and was wondering what their relationship was. ..... uh. ESTp offhand, but i will say beta st.
As a gay guy, I agree with this. To me the two men in the movie acted more like two straight guys who got frisky with each other at camp once (it happens) and not like actual gay men. I had a hard time feeling their 'love', because of the heterosexual-ness of it all.he had a curiosity and openness ... that i identified with. i also read an article where he said something like he didnt think the characters were actually gay, which i feel is very telling about the type of thinking he has.
It's possible they were bisexual. But yeah, I don't really like the movie at all and think it's soo overrated. I give it about a C- at best. Really, it's just super hard for a straight actor to play a gay man because the brains are just so different. I can smell their straightness a billion miles away and you can just tell that they're 'acting' and that's what makes it awful.
Topic: Jake seems ENFP or ENFJ. Heath seems ISTP or ISTJ. They're probably duals, I guess. Or conflicting. They did have good chemistry I suppose, although I don't think Heath knows how to kiss people at all, regardless if it's a guy or a gal.

Damn this is an old ass thread.
This is a great movie. Beautiful imagery too.
I have to be whatever Ennis Del Mar's character was (SLI). It was pretty much putting me on the screen. Minus the gayness.
Jake Gyllenhaal is great. I don't think you could possibly ask for a better representation of SLI/IEE duality than with this movie. Ledger is the ultimate SLI.
heath is hot.
hot hot.
ILE
those who are easily shocked.....should be shocked more often
Jake: ENFp
Heath Ledger: ISTp
I saw the end of it.
Seemed fairly straightforward ISTp ENF-
Dramatic movie.
Makes me think of how the isolated middle/poor class, especially in the heartland, has little avenue for understanding the global reality.
You can say that the same human struggles take place all over the world, of course.

yeah i think Jake is ENFp... I also saw him recently in the Zodiac movie and i think his character is ENFp too.. cartoonist with logical pursuits..... <33
Jake Gyllenhall: IEE (joins the Badass IEE group along with Keanu Reeves)
Heath Ledger: SLI (r.i.p.)
I think Jake is ESE and Heath is SLE
