    Default Type this guy.

    He's very picky about things such as leaving lights or appliances on in the house. He'll criticize anyone who walks out of the room before doing so. He's generally slow in whatever it is he does, which is why he makes sure everything is done right. If he forgot to do something and was late somewhere, he would still wander back slowely to get it, looking like he's completely lost in thought.

    He generally has routines that he follows throughout the day, he keeps his clothes out in the same place, he makes the same breakfast in the morning, etc... He also sleeps late into the morning and generally doesn't like to get up.

    He's often quick to criticize, and sometimes it seems like he doesn't know what he is talking about. It may seem obvious to other people, but he just doesn't see it and is convinced he's right. He talks a lot about things such as international affairs, what people are doing in England, Isreal, etc... and he thinks he's an expert on all of these events. He also tries to explain a lot of things through scientific research and what can be explained through physics, etc... He reads a lot of scientific books. He also takes detailed notes on things that he reads and textbooks.

    He will often give advice to people and expects them to do things in the same way that he does them. If people see things differently, and like them different, he will think they are stupid.

    He enjoys having people over the house and feeding them. Sometimes he doesn't realize when he overdoes it. This can apply to a lot of things. If he's about to buy a newspaper in a town that he is on familiar with, he will end up buying three instead of deciding. Also, when you get him into a social gathering, he may not realize when it's time to stop and go home. He will continue to talk to the same person, but at the same time ignore that person's interest in the subject.

    Any ideas?

    was it that obvious? I thought it might be, but I wanted to hear what people's impressions of his type would be.

    sounds like an ENTj to me.
    But, for a certainty, back then,
    We loved so many, yet hated so much,
    We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

    Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

    I would say ISTJ... Especially because of the whining about the lights.. I'm almost sure. Except for 1 thing you mentioned;
    That's more INTJ I guess..
    Anyway, I do know for a fact I probably can't get along very well with this type.

    By the way, Hi everyone! I'm new and this is my first post!

    That sounds very little like INTjs, as far as myself goes; I'm am incredibly bored by politics, most especially the international sort.

    OK, he's convinced he's an ENTP although I told him he was an INTP. It's my Dad. Interesting ISTJs.

    Anyway, he's way too Ni dominant to be an ENTP although he insists. ENTPs and subject to fall into as many routines, worry about the lights, etc... I think he's just got a poor understanding of the psychological Introvert.

    And there's no way he's an ISTJ. INTPs can be just as pendantic.

    I don't have any doubts as to your typing of him, Rocky. In fact, I'd say this paragraph:

    "He enjoys having people over the house and feeding them. He will continue to talk to the same person, but at the same time ignore that person's interest in the subject."

    sticks it. It demonstrates the Si role function of the INTp in all of its different interpretations. Plus, I can relate exactly to that paragraph.
    Binary or dichotomous systems, although regulated by a principle, are among the most artificial arrangements that have ever been invented. -- William Swainson, A Treatise on the Geography and Classification of Animals (1835)

    In my opinion there is nothing in the description that would not fit an ENTP at least as well as an INTP. I am exercising my ability to point out the absence of evidence now...

    (STYLe4MotiOn posting on mimi_four's account)

    Well, to give my colourful opinion on the matter ..

    The 'my way or the highway' is highly J, and obviously goes for all TJ's.
    An ENTJ is very fast, although they *can* be relaxed and lazy - ON/OFF.
    An INTP is very accepting, and will not care how others plan in their day.
    An ISTJ is not interested in science AT ALL - hence the extrovert thinking, introvert sensing (wich is irrational), and extrovert intuition LAST.
    Also, an ISTJ isn't very prone to 'overfeeding', they have their boundaries according to Te judgements. That's very ISFJ, with their Fe judgement; they are domestic caregivers 'behind closed doors'

    My guess would be ISFJ, because the ISFJ has a tertiary introvert Thinking (yes I'm using MBTI for my explanation, don't bother me about this) wich is indecisive so has all kinds of rules to compensate for the panic of unpredictability.

    But I've never seen an ISFJ into neurology; that would be like an ESTJ in a musical .

    So in conclusion:
    Either an ISFJ in an environment where it's a social norm to be in neurology (hehe, yeah right ), but anyhow the decision for this science-interest is socially driven,
    (on this highway it could also be an ISTJ with a dad involved in science - in my experience, ISTJ's want to *become* their dad)
    or an INTJ - INTJ's, especially undeveloped, are very focused on order, because they loose track of what's going on when their intuition distracts them.

    Or an INTP who is angry and sarcastic about other's ways

    Well, your judgement or being ENTj can be wrong, even though TJ's don't believe that - pretty nice contradiction isn't it

    Try to look at it objectively, not personally.

    Anyway, ENTj's are pretty energetic, because they are extroverted and want progress FAST!

    By INFp - you do mean introvert iNtuition / extroverted Feeling, right?
    They are pretty mellowed out, and well; patience is a key factor in getting along with them. My INFJ (Ni / Fe) mother actually's working for an ENTJ (Te / Ni), wich is pretty good because they're both introvert intuitives but the ENTJ is still the driving force, wich is pretty stable and safe for her.

    According to SmilingEyes theory, a lot of this behaviour can be described more for an INxx than an ENxx,

    X5 = X1*X2 Democracy Aristocracy (alpha + gamma) (beta+delta)
    X6 = x1*x9*x4=X1*X3 Judiciousness Resoluteness (alpha+delta) (beta+gamma)
    X7 = x2*x9*x4 = X2*X3 Cheerfulness Gravity (alpha+beta) (gamma+delta)
    X-7 = X1*X4 Carefree Calculating (EN + IS) (ES + IN)
    X-6 = X2*X4 Compliance Obstinacy (ET + IF) (EF + IT)
    X-5 = x9= X3*X4 Irationality Rationality J / P

    X-3 = X1*X2*X4 Positivism Negativism (ENT, ESF, INF, IST) (ISF, INT, EST, ENF)
    X-2 = x1*x9= X1*X3*X4 Tactics Strategy (NP+SJ) (NJ+SP)

    So, for example, an IN type may be more "calculating" because they are more unsure of how to apply pressure in situations and because they choose when this happens. An EN type will be more "carefree" because, although they can't skillfully apply pressure themselves, they don't really need to know how to because they let the outside world determine their actions and where they go.

    got it?
