Several of the people on this forum who are currently "ISTps" are mistyped ISTjs, so you know, it's a difficult environment for an ISTp or ISTj to get it right.

I think it is likely not much point in making this post, but I am chilling just now so thought I would. I don't really see personally why an ISTp would go to so much bother to post thread, links, texts, replies etc to pull off a 'pwn', I think they'd be like, "meh, what is the point really..".

Possibly, to me it is a lot of effort to have a laugh, doesn't sound very IP temperament or SiTe-not really much profit or practical output for effort put in, and insulting duals on internet doesn't sound particularly Fi seeking stable relationships, although true it is just internet but still, but yeah who knows, just an observation really.
yeah I was actually thinking the same thing. Both Winterpark and DeAnte think it'd be funny to get everyone thinking in one direction just to trick them! hahah, they're just joking around! OMG LOL!!! Look at all that funny Fe! It's one of the things that Betas I know do a lot. They like to influence that emotional atmosphere. My EIE sister used to steal my dinner plate just to amuse herself. No one else thought it was funny, but I'm sure Betas would.
ISTps wouldn't waste time making a fake thread (that could be taken seriously) because they DON'T like to influence or play w/ the emotional atmosphere.
They want to leave that emotional atmosphere alone, because they don't like to be influenced themselves. They might make a witty dry joke -- and it's clearly a joke, and it's said in a dry way to avoid using Fe, which is one reason I like ISTps (they don't try to influence me).
Winterpark and DeAnte are both ISTjs and everything in this thread (the "joke" and the "revealed joke") just show prove that. It shows how much they value Fe.

I have never been sure it has been particularly great, at least from what I have seem from when I have joined. Maybe it was better before this.
fwiw, i've often thought that I've never really seen identical in myself in some of the ISTp's here, nor do I see it in myself in ISFp's, or indeed INTj's (which is as far as i'm aware two common types for me by people who haven't actually even spoken to me directly).
It makes me wonder if it is something like JuJu says, that there are ISTj's who see themselves as ISTp's, confusion on the forum on this type.
In any event, whatever type people wish to or don't wish to give me, or what ever type I am etc.. it is sort of irrelevant in big scheme of things really I think. I've never felt the need to try to "prove" it somehow.
So yeah, I agree that the amount of socionics discussed on the forum is pretty low. Just my opinion, sure others will no doubt disagree heh.
It's been an interesting weekend in a way posting here, but it gets a bit tiring at least to me after a while.

I watched that last video myself, and I must say he seemed closer to IP than to IJ, although there has been a decent argument here for LSI as well. I'm going to go with "self-typing knows best."

I don't know what you are, but you are certainly not a blatant SLI-Te. I have met a few SLIs in my life and as their dual, I understand them pretty well. I have the hardest time imagining any of them going through all this trouble to make a point they could just say in one sentence before moving on to more interesting things. The reason why I like them is that they DON'T initiate drama.
I also remember seeing one of your posts in Delta a while ago and thinking, "wait, why did he post this? Isn't he beta?"
I don't want to argue about your type, but even before this little stunt, you never seemed blatantly SLI to me, so a type investigation might not be so out of the question after all. :wink:

To your credit, DeANte, I do agree that it is cowardly to vocalise agreement with a dissenting opinion through PM alone. Unless it would be foolish to do so which, in this case, it evidently wouldn't be.
I also like your thinking style - challenging/questioning the social norm. It shakes up this perception of the LSI as an unthinking conservative with no ideals (no doubt fuelled by the picture of the ISTJ in MBTT).
