I try to resist the robotic thinking, because that can be limiting, but I guess it is something I indulge in and have to ward against. Like, I'll read a sentence, and interpret it in one way, and answer accordingly. If it is pointed out to me I read it wrong in the first place, I'll be initially resistant, but consider the possibility. And if in the light of the alternative perspective, I agree with the new interpretation, I'll replace my initial analysis with the later one. Though sometimes, in my heart of hearts, even though I know the later analysis is more appropriate, I'll still think that I was 'right' the first time.
The black or white thing does not always happen, but it is always an initial goal. It was the best way I could explain it though. And I do get the whole resistance to an idea changing. It's always a strange experience though maybe other types would feel the same way, especially with deep seated beliefs.

Just thought about something. I had been arguing with this girl about Descarte's I think therefore I am premise, and the proof of it being that as long as you can not prove that the external world exists then your thoughts are the only "thing/s" that prove your existence. She would not back down and was giving me some flimsy retorts on why that was wrong. Is Ti part of the reason why talking to someone who is wrong, and unashamadely so, infuriates me. And it is not a matter of pride over winning the arguement either, it is entirely to do with their not clearly understanding what I am saying effectively. I have read that dominants can be too concise for their own good, maybe that is the problem.

The initial question kind of puzzles me. Human physiology is not that different from person to person. The brain and central nervous system works the same with minor variances at most, so what exactly is different or all that significant apart from that 0.0000000001% of DNA that separates us from chimpanzees and the 0.00000000000000000000000001% of DNA that separates us from other humans?

Also, Fi-ESIs would have Fi base, Te agenda, while for LSE's it's vice versa. I've been thinking about it a little and Te leading with Fi agenda wouldn't be a bad description of what you've written in this thread. But that's just me and if you're convinced you're Ti, run with it.
It seems closer to an LSI than ESI, since he seems to be talking about fields of comparison between objects.

Unlike many of other official sources which goes through when it is ready to published.
This is the problem. I'd wager that 99% of the people on this site couldn't give an accurate description of a function. I've read a LOT of information and I still don't think I truly understand what each function is. I'll take a shot though.

What Archon, mn0good and brilliand have said applies to me for the most part. Here are some additional thoughts, as well as my in action refining what others have said:

First of all, being alpha my Ti is inseparable from my Ne. Thus there is a constant refining, constant search for new angles and points of view, constant expansion and refining. All of my Ti categories are in an Ne web; they're all interconnected in a million different ways.

At the root of myself I believe that I can never completely understand ANYTHING. Ti is the best method available to create a working framework to organize and navigate the world with a high percentage of effectiveness. Most things have a lot of general blur/noise/excess information to them, and Ti is clearing through the fog to the essence of a person, place, activity, argument, theory, etc. Ti is like understanding, condensing, and classifying the root of EVERYTHING.

Once something is understood/classified/given a theme, I am content with it. I'm not comfortable with things I don't understand, can't analyze, or don't have enough information about. Trying to navigate human interaction with Ti is a nightmare because there isn't enough clear data with most people.

Unlike Fi, Ti is capable of (from my point of view) true objectivity - what is actually true, regardless of whether it is "right" or "wrong". I can draw Ti conclusions which I am strongly opposed to and/or believe are false, yet know based on available evidence to be true.

I think some examples would be good, I'll try to create some later on.

the descriptions made by the NTs fit fairly well with how i perceive my Ti.

above all, Ti results in my viewing pretty much everything through a system - i will create a system for everything i learn, or which is preferred, modify or add to the existing system. once something is understood, it should need to be understood only once, and applied to as many existing knowledge as possible to ensure that one does not need to learn the same thing, only in different contexts, just to effect the same amount of learning. this is accomplished by fitting it into the system i carry around in my head to hold together all knowledge i retain, and the new addition just sort of flips over whatever else is already there to improve all related prior knowledge. if something feels 'stuck' i will know the existing system needs improving, in that something i thought i understood before was incorrect, and the system will be looked at and fixed - otherwise the system will be robust enough to 'flip' correctly with new information.

i don't do this on purpose - it's on constantly. it's why i get impatient with people who find it difficult to grasp systems; indeed we are surrounded by systems, multiple ones at work, socially, in the neighbourhood - particularly those who take a very short-term view of things, and do not consider how a change will ripple through the systems it touches. when something like that happens, it's almost like prophecy in that one can quite clearly see what will happen by knowing the system.

it also makes me really good at learning systems - as long as it's meant to be systematic, and is halfway consistent, i can learn it, or at least figure out how it was meant to work, even if i have a lower level of specialised knowledge in whatever field it is in compared to others in the same boat.

I will try not to contaminate this thread too much, but it is interesting reading about my polr

The filing cabinet example is how i have always conceptualised Ti. I think part of the reason idolatrie did not feel an affinity to that description is perhaps because it is a very abstract concept. It is just a description of the way that the Ti types organise their information, its a transparent process not the act of actually imagining a peice of furniture .

Perhaps explaining my brain without much Ti might help. If you could delve into my brain you would probablly explode. I personally feel like a foggyness clouds most things i think about. I would see my brain as a thick fog with information kind of just appearing seemingly out of nowhere most of the time. If i have to explain a concept, i die a little inside and spout mostly babble. Actually thinking about many concepts i feel a road block where its just difficult to think about all the little peices that are involved and how they would fit together. Organising information for an essay or via a graph is pretty difficult.

I have thought in the past that Ti could have some bearing on memory because my memory is quite shocking. I can learn something and understand it perfectly, but within a day or so its often lost in my fog again. Pulling up concepts and things ive read / watched from the past are often almost impossible for me ive found. There was no filing process it just drifted into the fog and dissapeared. Sometimes even the names for slightly strange objects and words are very hard to recall. Its the encoding of the information that is the problem, i think that im concentrating hard but i am not juggling with the information very much. ESTj's and ISTj's seem to have exceptional memories ive noticed though, so perhaps because sensors dont have all this intuitive noise going on they concentrate better.

I think i would be the type of ENFp with the weakest possible Ti. You could probablly see that evidenced by the unorganised manner of this very post. Im a space cadet! Before you think that living like this sounds kind of horrible, you need not worry i feel that im a highly functional human being. Ive adapted to kind of not give a shit and just go with the flow i suppose. I suppose one positive is im always starting off on a blank state and as a result am fairly adaptive

To me, Ti is about structuring my thought processes. My mind works in such a way that I use Ne to generate new possibilities, and Ti puts these possibilities into logical perspective. For example, suppose I get the idea that socionics isn't a perfect system - it simply represents a general trend in human behaviour, a trend that isn't absolute. In my mind, I'll get this notion through Ne - an idea of a certain perfect geometric pattern that represents socionics will come to me, and I'll have an intuitive understanding that this pattern represents the notion that socionics is an ideal that it isn't perfect in real life. Through Ti, I will try to unpack the logic behind this idea so I can explain it to others; it allows me to explain the pattern by being able to think up facts that support the idea and give reasons as to why the idea makes sense.

What's interesting is that everyone here has a different notion of Ti. I think the problem is that, since socionics is a system that describes social interactions, Ti, like all functions, is more of an external than an internal phenomenon. For example, when an Fe type looks for Ti, they are looking at the external manifestations of your thought processes, not what your thought process looks like on the inside. In this sense, Ti has less to do with the specifics of how you think, and more to do with the general features that are exhibited when your thoughts are on display. For example, in my case, the way my ideas come to me is not as important in interacting with an Fe ego as much as the fact that I describe them in a very structured, logical way. This is probably the reason why my relations fit better with LII than ILE, even though I probably internally use Ne more than Ti.
