aside from personal sympathies Herzy just isn't spending enough time on the forum for the mod job, and doesn't seem to care about forum politics.

Very busy with work. Only kind of around.
I know everyone loves Herzy, but it should probably be taken into account that she isn't exactly a regular poster.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,

Just so I'm clear about where I stand on the vote/poll issue, it doesn't have to be a straight up democratic vote and then the top two mods get appointed. The poll in my mind is just to gauge how betas feel about it and who they might want to moderate the beta subforum. If you want zero or one or three mods, that's fine. For me, I just wanted to pick up the vibe about the idea and whether or not it would fly.
