I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. Sigh...so this time i asked richard to answer the questions for me. So i could get a perspective on how someone who interacts with me everyday might perceive me. He was supposed to answer based on comparing me to the avg person, but i think he answered most of them in comparison to himself. Also, asking the questions with him brought up how much i try to hide from him.
Anyways, so the results showed
6SO, 4SO, 2SP, 7SO, 9SO, as being 50% or higher.
So then I read to him the SO description from that site and he was like "No! Where did they get That from?" Especially since some of the things listed on the description he had answered the opposite direction.
Then I read the SP, and he said half of that fit, and then half of the SX fit.
It's like if you are warm, friendly, open, like sharing stories of experiences and solutions to problems, reading about issues and how to solve them, etc, then suddenly you are all about being team/group oriented and highly concerned about status and rank within those teams/groups. If i was so freaking concerned about that shit, I wouldn't be so F'n open. It's like enneagram has no concept of being individualistic yet learning by observation. In the wild, primates learn what not to eat and where not to go by watching another primate doing/going and them getting hurt by it. Learning this stuff, and getting people to talk about this stuff, helps one protect oneself and one's loved ones. It's a far cry from trying to fit in with a team/group or a status/rank. (Though that might be a PART of what someone's observing to learn for, it's not necessarily the intent/motivation/focus of the observations.)
Edited to add: add on that I'm most comfy with one-to-one or 3 people (including me). Add in a fourth person and i start to feel uncomfortable and withdraw. But 3 people takes the pressure/focus off of me, provides me with another perspective on a topic, and allows me to just listen and observe the other two people talking about stuff that i have limited experience/knowledge on, thereby increasing my understanding of the topic. And enneagram describes that as being team/group/status/rank oriented??

This one was a bit lame since it's so trait focused. I also don't see much true 4 questions, most of that could also fall under, say, 7. Like being unconvential, avant-garde, unorthodox and non-conformist (which can also fit other types like 5). What do you think of the test?
