Default Enneagram Tritypes - what's your tritype?

Thanks to Salawa for this link:

    http://www.enneagram.net/tritype.html

What do you think your tritype is?
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I am fairly sure that I am 4-7-8.

    My guesses about other people:

    Salawa: 1-5-4
strrrng: 4-6-8 (A more aggressive, reative 4? I think they had Nick in mind, lol)
    implied: 6-4-9 sounds right
Khamelion: 6-4-9? 4-6-9? Hmmm, something is missing, though.
mn0good - hmmmm...7-8-3? But she doesn't seem that intense somehow.
    FDG - 7-3-8
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

    7-2-9.

Charm and disarm -> repair -> submit

Also consistent with surface/deep directions (embrace/embrace for power/give up for approval).

Having thought about it, probably 5-1-3.

I just know my primary/wing type; no idea for my tritype. I would guess 6-8-3? I don't know. I don't relate to any of the heart triad types, for some reason. 2, 3, and 4 all just feel wrong.

4-9-5 (or 4-5-9, not sure which), who would be more withdrawn, passive (9) and avoidant (5)
me. i'm completely in the withdrawn triad anyway to the point that it's not even confusing placing myself there, at all.

Methinks I'm 4, 5 and 1, but in what order I'm not sure.

1-5-4, perhaps. But the growth/stress arrows seem to fail under this system...

I find you superficial and slightly pointless, but yes, I agree with you. Then again, you could say the same thing about the entire Enneagram.

I'm so superficial and pointless—but I made a good point—and you agree with me? Try the direct approach and take it out on someone's ass next time. Preferably Gilly's.

See, this is just proof: he agrees with you, but you almost completely ignore that and get angry because he thinks you're superficial. And you never get this angry when someone simply disagrees with you. You were so upset that you even tried to make it look like he contradicted himself when he obviously didn't.

Inference: you would rather be seen as wrong than superficial. Conclusion: you are superficial, and hate yourself for it.

Seriously, it's ok; you'll grow up some day. I'm kind of superficial, too, but I've come to accept that about myself. I get on with life, and it's ok. So chill out.

Your first mistake was making the assumption that I'm angry. And the second one—in the form of some twisted set of "logic" that resembles nothing of a Beta NF, btw—I'm not even going to get into. Are you really that bad at understanding people, or is intertype causing a blind-spot here?

what does "superficial" mean, anyway? Does it mean wanting someone to go the fuck away but not quite knowing how to tell them that? I do think that is superficial.. if only that person would fuck off.

I will. We're not as definitive and systematic about pointing out what someone else is doing. (this is a fair example of the kind of thing that still makes me think ENTp for Gilly). It's more about reading between the lines of what they're doing, not so much cross-correlating it and making deductions. His attitude seemed sort of like: "You're doing this, which means this, and now look at this." Beta NFs tend to be more like: "Oh, you're doing this? Well isn't that interesting." There isn't as much of a structure with us, just an underpinning process.

Yeah. I just figured being a beta NF, but whatever.

I don't know what the hell that dialectical-algorithmic thinking thing is. Is that Gulenko's stuff? I doubt it originated from smilingeyes or something. Anyway, I think that's a bad typing criteria, as it is too general to be pinned down to certain types. Also, what are its bases? A few dichotomial divisions? I don't know. I'd rather make assessments based on stuff I know is real to functions, not hair-splitting categories with questionable criteria.

well I think it's just one of the many ways to type somebody. like maybe you're stuck between two types, determining their form of thinking could be another piece of evidence toward one type or another.

I am a Vortex thinker, and from reading it I have to say it's pretty accurate. since you're IEI too, try reading it and see if you can relate (if you feel like sifting through the rough translation sometime...)
Ok. I'm always open to new information. It's just more that I don't think something like that would trump the more integral facets of functions that I believe exist. Like, I've looked more into reinin dichotomies lately, and found some use for it (along with smilexian stuff), but I still know where to draw the line, and see which information is of a larger magnitude. So, if it came down to typing someone and I couldn't decide, I would probably wait for something more reliable (to me) than choosing between a behavioral dichotomy.

The sad thing is that you continue to shamefacedly deny everything I say about you when it's just obvious to me, and you already know there's no way in hell you can convince me otherwise. You make sweeping statements, saying things like "URGH YOU DONT UNDERSTAND ME, DONT JUDGE ME BECAUSE YOU'RE ALWAYS WRONG," and react to the smallest of prods, which only serves to showcase your immaturity and further convince me that I'm right about you.

You need to either put me on ignore, or start growing up.

Yes, you are free to continue being wrong
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Funny how obvious my first two in the tritype are & yet how confused I am about the Gut triad... 8,9,1. I don't see any of them much in mine. I used to think 8 but that really doesn't make too much sense. I think 1 might be a much better fit, just didn't know it yet. 1w9. Hmm.

I can see very clearly in myself the tendency to go from perfectionism and idealism --> a cerebral outlook with avoidance --> brooding and searching for meaning when the previous approach seems to be failing (obviously this is oversimplified); but while this seems obvious to me I can see how it might be less relevant for others especially if they might have, for example, a particularly dominating primary ego fixation.
This is a very good point, some people think they have two wings, while some are unsure of their enneagram type or their wing type, both are farely strong.

I think this sounds right. maybe 4-9-6? I am not sure.

A girl I was dating said she was oh so great at sex etc, but she didn't do blowjobs.
My reply: Oh I'm really romantic etc, I just will never take you out to dinner.

    I'm 4/5/8 or 4/5/9... not sure which. I know I have both 8 and 9 qualities.
