I did a thread to VI him. Here is the link:

Sounds a bit crazy, but he could be any unhealthy sensor.
Could be SLE or SEE too or even a XSE.
Taste and luxury is more often associated withvs

I would go thru these descriptions as imo it's not that different from socionic concepts.
One characteristic ofis the reliance on past experience, nostalgia and memories of the past which may not require actually experiencing it externally. It can be replicated by a memento or some act or simply just being in the right place.
He also displays a lot of volitional sensing in using a knife/persistant persuasion to get what he wants. I would say 4dbefore any
ignoring type.
I can't tell from his VI, the pictures are bad.
Do you have any writing he has done?
I thought of him as being Se dom when I first started studying socionics - but like I said, he thinks he is SEI. I will try to find some writings.
He is the author of a book, but I have no excerpts of it.

They cannot stand each other. He is now in an MBA program.

His brother is 16 years older. He is a well reputed MD in private practice and in the Army Reserve. Their father is a wife beater; their mom is shy and very pious.
But hkkmr, I just thought of something. Do you think I am asking about how to deal with him? He is presently very well behaved. He sobered up after the knifing. I am just trying to confirm his type. His MBA program identified him as a Meyers Briggs ISFJ, which seems to fit him. He find Meyers Briggs to be very superficial. He likes my interest in Socionics, and I am just checking to see if his pattern of strong gusto is common to the Socionic type he seems to believe he is.
I do not need advice to deal with him, just to confirm typing him... So you would vote against SEI?

I would say the knifing incident is a outlier and cannot be used as a indicator, I'm not looking to deal with him, just trying to understand the situation.
If he was inebriated it would be another factor. How long ago was this? I get the idea that his brother was the main object of rage and he channeled to the individual present.
If this was a one-off incident then I would say it's possible for him to be any sensor. It does sound like he's going thru changes.
It was about 2 years ago. I believe he was drunk, yes. and yes, he was mostly enraged at his brother. hmm..

I've known a couple ISFp 9w8s who would match the OP descriptions if they were pushed to their limits of mental well-being. Big stocky guys who think of themselves as pacifists but would likely kick your ass if in the wrong mood.
I would imagine getting charged by bionicgoat if I got between him and his pot
also "Of course he was wearing pajamas!"![]()
is like a wet kiss on the cheek and a warm hug by a cute smiling girl.
is the confetti shots on your birthday party with all your friends.
is a way to completely rip apart the face of god and stare directly at the naked universe.
is like over here and then over there and they are all connected and I am on amphetamine.
I can totally see it. Have worked with similar SEIs in the past. Got pushed into a corner by one the other night for lightly teasing him (totally playful) and ordered to stop "or else." Wtf? The same guy threw a fit one day when I went to the store during a break and bought an energy drink for myself without getting anything for him. An SLE's reaction to that is usually a playful, "Wow! My baby has money!" (Even though we're just friends--most of the SLEs I know value money highly and like to talk about it.) And the SEEs I know wouldn't give a damn either.
The only other SEI I know fairly well is someone I've been distant friends with for the last eight years, and she's been known to overreact when her IEI sister or ILE brother go out to eat together and don't bring her anything. It's actually a HUGE unspoken point of resentment in their family--the IEI and ILE ALWAYS spoil the SEI with shit so she won't cause drama that can at times last for up to a week.
Obviously not ALL SEIs are like this, but really unhealthy ones probably often are. Your friend does sound very much like an unhealthy SEI to me.
Eta: My mom is either SEI or ESE and has screamed at me in the past for not bringing her Chipotle when I went there with my brother to eat (whom I believe may actually be ESFp, not ESTj). This is despite the fact that she and my EII sister frequently go out to breakfast/lunch at restaurants without bringing me anything! Not that I mind, but it does seem pretty ridiculous. Obviously a reaction of thwarted Si. Has also punished me (grounded from TV, friends, computer and video games) for not wanting to eat at her favorite restaurant instead of mine on my own birthday. I think this is a side of Si that isn't often acknowledged, lol.
❤ Probably ILI, or IE I/EIE/EII. PM me if you have ideas about my type! Ennagram 2w3 7w8 1w9. ❤
One of the aforementioned ISFp 9w8s I know can get really intense and domineering in a way, but he's such a chill badass that he can pull it off and still be totally likeable. Get him pissed off and I can definitely see the "rogue elephant" in him come out though. I still can't decide if he's sx/sp or sp/sx, although I'm leaning the latter.
Man I wish I knew more 9w8s![]()

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

I don't think explosive violence is type distinctive, but I did know a lot of fattypes who sit around playing video games and bitching at someone to go pick them up their food. I wouldn't type this individual as I really have no clue to his type except some poor pictures, which makes me think some sort of sensor. This seems to be a isolated incident while inebriated and dealing with a major conflict with his older brother, so it's not type distinctive.
Here's a little bit of SEI anger, nothing explosive though
I know ESE who have explosive anger/hysteria issues; SEI get into hysteria too. I don't get explosively angry, I just take a walk. I like it quiet, calm, serene slightly funny, on the never mind.

Luxury is a Se thing, not Si, so it would be good to pay attention at the focus of the "luxury" stuff. Is it meant to be pleasurable (Si) or is it meant to be flashy (Se)?
Also, when typing, temperaments are very useful. I don't rellay see an Ip type doing what you describe. Anyone can lose control but not over such small things.
