Both. These letters mean _preferences only_. Dichotomies in socionics and preferences in MBT are the same in essence (if you will look to type tests based on preferences in both typologies and descriptions of preferences/types in books you should agree. The only significant difference is in Augustinavichute's term of extraversion/introversion wich had most influence on aspects descriptions, but _Jung's term of E/I is used in theory and practice of socionics too_, so Augustinavichute's interpretation is used as other understanding of the same in core, but not as a controversion to Jung).
