    Default Bill Hicks

    My guess is ENFJ

    quotes: http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Bill_Hicks#Quotes

ENFjs posses the ability to be great orators as they know how to paint speeches in many colours and how to keep the attention of the listener. Besides containing dramatic emotions, their speeches often contain sharp sarcasm and powerful bitterness. ENFjs know well how to combine humour with tragedy. As a result their narratives are always breathtaking.
That sounds pretty much like Bill's standup, "combining humor with traedy" saying jokes about the Kennedy Assasination, the war in iraq, domestic violence, child abortion, cancer....

Dark humor is an xNTp trademark, but I don't know who Bill Hicks is.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

You should check him out, he was a genius. He smoked a lot and made jokes about it and then he died of lung cancer.

I thought every american knew who he was.

Bill Hicks I think was definitely an ENTP. He hated authority with a passion and for a very good reason. He got a lot of air time removed because of the U.S. government. He didn't become as popular as he should of become and he was angry for that. (I would be too). His comedy was very intellectual and I think he used a lot of to point out the mishaps of society. I'm confident that ENTP is his personality or maybe another type. Though, I don't think he was ENFJ.

I can't believe that after a year and more than 10,000 posts I am now first understanding what an ENTp is!!!

And now I can think of a few I've know. They're fun and interesting, but unrealiable (and thus unprofitable).

t's funny and delightful but not childish. But bill hicks is more a critic of society than a free-spirited fun lover. That's why I say ENTj. I'm not really hellbent on that thought, though.

Ep seems likely, and he could be ENTp, but I get an vibe from him. His manner of acting everything out physically seems . That may just be part of the performance craft, but he seems to do that more than other comedians, and more comfortably/gracefully. ENTj is possible, I suppose. I'd also consider that he may be ESTp, or somewhere between ESTp and ENTp.

Since two people have seen ENTj, it's not obvious, Joy. Maybe it's obvious to you.

How do you deduce from that that he doesn't value Se? I might just be missing it, please explain.

It's not the way he's acting (because he's a stand up comedian... if there's a type who actually acts like that... ), it's his ideas and outlook on things. When I said "act" I meant the way he describes himself, I suppose.

And the stuff he says about marketing and money are soooooooooo Alpha... and it's a large part of the reason that Alpha and Gamma are conflicting quadras. Having been with a TiNe for a few years, I have been made painfully aware of this aspect of whether or not someone values Se. No, Se isn't just about money, but the reason that Alphas find those concerned with money unattractive is because they don't value Se. And the reason that ENTjs have the exaggerated greedy stereotype is because they do value Se.

I'm the type of person that Bill Hicks was expressing frustration towards in that particular clip... the type of frustration/disgust he portrays is similar to the way that INTj and a few other Alphas I've known express towards me.

I don't know though, have you ever read the autobiographical novel "Martin Eden" from Jack London himself, the stereotype of ENTj? There's a very clear underlying disgust for everything you associate to Se.

VI makes him pretty clearly irrational.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

    I have not.

Did he express it similarly to the way Bill Hicks is expressing it, or was it an expression of disgust for people who spend their lives trying to gain power and prestige? To me, the stereotypical upper middle class mindset and people who care about money more than people are disgusting. Things that involve making lots of money by selling your soul to a corporation, politics, or organized crime are disgusting. Basically, Fe + Se is disgusting. When societal roles come into play, that's when I start getting irritated and expressing "a very clear underlying disgust for everything 'you' associate to Se".

No, I don't think money is more important than people and I do think that people who care about prestige and looking wealthy are disgusting... but the specific way Bill Hicks talks about marketing is a totally different idea fthan the type of thing I can't stand.

You're fucking stupid. You can't keep pinning these negative stereotypes and images on functions. It's REALLY retarded and it's getting on my goddamn nerves.

Sure, Fe+Se. Just think about the movie Fight Club, which is the most Beta movie ever, that deals with exactly the opposite of everything you said here. Please, please, please do not spread false informations.

But never mind. His disagreement was in regard to both sides of the issue. Btw, you should really read the novel. I know no writer easier and faster to read than Martin Eden: I very rarely read fiction, but his is always welcomed.

Uhm I think I get what you mean, he kind of "demonizes" it more than it's actually necessary.
