The epitome of ILI!!

I was thinking about my dad today, how he communicates with everyone (he's ILI-Te imo) and reading through the Einstein thread, considering this whole "ILIs are low energy" thing. I had an epiphany of sorts...if I was to use a particular character to describe ILI (perhaps somewhat comically, as it's sort of over dramatised), I would choose Marvin the paranoid android.



"Life! Don't talk to me about life! Pardon me for breathing, which I never do anyway so I don't know why I even bother to say it. Oh god, I'm so depressed!", and "Here I am, brain the size of a planet, and they get me to take you down to the bridge. Call that job satisfaction? 'Cos I don't."

its pretty weird you've mentioned this.


when i read the books, there was this one part in book 3 i think, where marvin is stuck on a planet for several thousand years or something with a broken leg. so he can only go in circles when he walks. and this planet had mattress's that were all named zem. they liked to yammer and talk about pointless things and ask lots of questions. no matter how much marvin berated them, no matter what kind of depressing things he said, zem would keep talking and talking.

i used the alias zem for a loooooooonnnnggg time, it was actually my account name on here for a short while. but i kind of decided it was too much a part of my depressive stage and kind of a self-loathing nature. mattresses arn't exactly very smart.....
