I'm willing to delete this if you ask me to.
I was bored and tried looking up stuff on the net. In the usual process of getting lost and being nowhere near the topic I had started out with, I found this and thought of some of the stuff you'd written.
Title: Toward a Biology of Personality and Emotion
http://psyphz.psych.wisc.edu/web/pub..._a_biology.pdf
I can't even pretend to grasp what it's saying.
But some of the things it seems to bring up are things like
* anticipating future positive and negative affect consequences
* approach/avoid systems
* positive/negative/neutral stimuli
* representing affect in the absence of immediately present rewards and punishments
* conditioned affect
* level of intensity over given amount of time; initial reactivity time; recovery time
* 'tonic level, threshold to respond, peak or amplitude of response, rise time to peak of response, and recovery time'
and suggestions that variations in each of the last components may lead to different response systems (affective style)
Anyways, it seemed to fit the kinds of things I've read/heard from you, so maybe something here may point you in a useful/interesting direction??
As I said, if you want me to remove this, I will do so without a problem.

some of these ideas are actually a bit interesting
