Tough call between 3 and 4, but head is definitely 7 and gut is probably 8 or 9.

Actually, looking into it some more (still tentative, but I think I'm right), I would say that my head type would be 5w4. Having two 4 wings is interesting.

5 brings out a lot things that I do see in my personality, beneath the dominance of the 3 type personality. It explains my strong intellectual bent, the extent by which I often feel I even intellectualise my internal emotional responses. It probably exacerbates the difficulty I experience with intimacy as a 3; I've always had trouble forming and sustaining meaningful connection with more than a select few people. It compounds my fear of emotional vulnerability and explains my tendency to try and withdraw first in order to process some emotions. It also explains why I dislike when people impose upon me, either in rudeness or in kindness - I'm uncomfortable with having people become too emotionally invested in me, because I fear being overwhelmed by their demands - and also fear that I can't possibly reciporcate and will end up hurting them.

So, 3w4-5w4-9w1.

Still certain of 3w4 - 5w4, but some recent experiences indicate that 9 as my gut type is highly unlikely. I don't compulsively avoid conflict, nor am I particularly self-effacing, nor do I identity with this attitude: They adopt an attitude of acceptance towards life. They don't ask for too much; sometimes they ask for too little. People who, for no other reason that to avoid conflict, swallow their opinions and accommodate other people, often irritate me, as much as people who provoke conflict for no reason and are excessively abrasive.

So reading about E1 - and that seems to fit a lot more: the perfectionistic streak, the concentration, the ability to self-deny, the strong sense of responsibility (that drives me crazy), conscientiousness, need to be competent, and why, despite being a 3, self-promotion and posturing is something I find uncomfortable and I roll my eyes at in other people. I feel guilty about unattainable standards, am very self-critical and use my guilt to propel myself on to ameliorate any detected flaws.

So as of now: 3(w4) - 5(w4) - 1(w2).

Self-typed based off the descriptions, and well, I've learnt my lesson about typing by descriptions lol. So if you disagree, just shoot. (Though perhaps not here) I don't think my understanding of the enneagram is particularly sophisticated. I am quite certain I'm gut triad first though - I spent a while vaccilating between 8w9 and 1w9 before settling (with some prompting by unefille there).

no difference; it seems that people adopt the convention of transcribing trifixes in the order of the main triads (head, heart, gut)

ie if somebody is a head type such as 6 the trifix might be 6-1-3. a gut type would be 1-3-6. the heart type is 3-6-1.
