Somehow I wrote a nice long post and it disappeared. I hit some button and all of a sudden it was gone. I think it is my laptop. fxxxk!

It was a cool post, but I not going to rewrite it. Sorry. I must figure out these damn hotkeys. I hate them.

    Default Career choices for ESFp

What would be good career choices for ESFps?

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Emotionally/ethically competitive fields might be nice for them. Also hands-on diplomatic positions.

on a more serious note... They can do a lot of things I would list a few but you really dont need to narrow it down. Any career that allows interaction with people and/or helping people. Obviously not a career like an engineer. I said this before but in Reinin's book he says to choose a career that fulfills the creative function, protects the polr, and satisfies the suggestive.

public relations, entertainment/show business, broadcasting, politics, etc.

i often see SEEs being drawn to doing things that involve being out in the public eye, being a good communicator, networking/building relationships, competition and leadership, etc.

In fields where image and character are always at risk and must be maintained, as in most industrial businesses and international organizations, it is crucial to champion (a facade of) upright ethics, internally and externally.

Going through the list in my head of ESFps that I know, all of them are techies in some way or another. One is hardcore about it; one of them works in hardware tech but does customer interfacing/marketing; one of them doesn't work in tech but loves cool gadgets.

The one who works in tech but does people stuff is always learning new things about technology, expanding her knowledge base. As someone said to her, she's a closet geek but not so much in the closet. (She doesn't look like a geek at all.)

Anyway, I don't think career choices can be gleaned from that, but it's an interesting trend in terms of interests and activities/subjects they appear to enjoy.
Oh, to find you in dreams - mixing prior, analog, and never-beens... facts slip and turn and change with little lucidity. except the strong, permeating reality of emotion.

Have you considered working you way into McD management? I worked with a guy, probably an ILI, who's dad (Who seemed pretty ESFp to me) owned and operated a McDonalds and he made pretty good money. He had all kinds of odds and ends like a Japanese toilet and quite a gun collection.

Anyway, it could be a lucrative career if you have your sights on ownership or management. Just a thought.

SEEs seem to like jobs where 1) they have some degree of influence/autonomy 2) they get to interact with people 3) what they're doing doesn't have too much structure, you get to improvise and have constant stimulation. I know SEEs as entrepreneur, theatre director, movie producer, engineer, etc.
