OK, look - I was kind of neutral before but the ridiculous amount of hype this movie has generated is making me NOT want to see it - is it really all that special? It's a Batman sequel. Oh no, that's never been done before! My impression is that Heath Ledger is the source of all the hype (I also thought Heath Ledger's death, while sad, received a ridiculous amount of attention, and he's in the movie and everyone raves about him), but perhaps I'm wrong; I haven't seen the movie after all. I just find it difficult to imagine it really being all that good.

I sort of feel the way you do about the superhero genre, Wittmont. (Also except for V for Vendetta, I really loved that movie.)

And I was thinking something similar to what Elro just expressed.

This is how I was with the Harry Potter books when they came out... I was like why is everyone making such a big deal over these books? (Not that the hype over the Batman movie is of the grand proportions that HP was.)

Welll... I did really like the HP books, hype or no hype.

I didn't think all that much of the movie. I agree with Jessica that the only entertaining parts of the movie were when Heath was on screen. Then again, I haven't seen any of the other Batman movies and I'm not such a fan of the whole superhero theme in general.

I thought the Joker should have been a bit more schizophrenic or something. You never see him losing his 'cool' (lol). Like when he was being 'interrogated' - I think we should have seen some other sides of him coming out ... but he just kept the whole joking, ironical thing going on too consistently, like that's all his whole personality was about.

Funny though, I found myself feeling for the joker more than Batman really. lol
