really interesting observations of your relation with your super-ego. wow. It would really fun to have a database someday of all the relations, specifically. Instead of just "superego" it could be each individual superego relation and how things might tend to play out, given the personalities. I know it would be a huge project and maybe too hard to do. But even if we could have a database of people's experiences, it might be handy to have something to refer to, or at least interesting to read.

A good example for me is my parents separation. It's been clear to me since I was a child that my parents weren't happy together and that the best thing for them was divorce.

So when they separated recently into different houses I wasn't affected by it emotionally in any way. Right now my dad (who I no longer live with) is continually calling me to try to talk to me about it and reveal to me detailed and personal information about their relationship that I really am not comfortable hearing. I realize that he wants to be honest with me so I can have clarity on the situation, but I seriously have no interest in hearing any of it. I do not want to know about their problems, what they were feeling, or anything related to that.

I would have actually preferred it if he had withheld that information from me because A) it served no practical purpose for me in any way and B) it really hurt me emotionally and stressed me out to be aware of what had been happening over the years.

The thing is, Si is most obvious in things like that - directly sensible stuff. It's why Si use is much harder to see online.

i agree with you kamangir...beta NF's are angsty, they make me feel sort of stirred up inside, where alpha NF's the feeling is just more open and safe.

yes you're generally right. not to say that SEIs can't get confused sometimes or be unsure of what they want. but once they make up their minds, they stick with it. there's not a lot of back and forth stuff.

I know people who don't like much thunder and lightning. They prefer predictable and boring. Problem is, they get to be about 50 years old after 20 years of that and they're, um, bored.

I don't hold grudges (at least i try not to) either but it seems that even after the IEI supposedly "got over" and "moved on", there was always that underlying tension that they didn't quite get over it and that no amount of apologizing would make a difference. Of course, this is probobly an entirely personal thing and hardly type related IMO, but maybe it rings true with some of you? I don't know. I get a very mixed message with them at times. They forgive me, we're on good terms, they look for the smallest thing to bring up the past, we argue, they hate me for 2-3 months, they forgive me, we're on good terms.....you get the picture.

I dunno. I disagree with that. I know ESEs and EIEs who hold grudges quite a bit longer than I do. Not to say that I forget easily, but I do forgive. And the other IEIs I know (some of my very closest friends) are the same as me.
