My mom is ESFp-Fi and I want her to be a little happier for her upcoming birthday. Do you have any tips for how to act more INTp-ish?

This is actually a serious question. I can do the Te bid pretty easily. I'm really looking for ideosyncratic things and quirks that only INTps do which ESFps love and so on. I usually take on many different types of characters around her... so this won't really seam out of place.

I can live with breaking any and all Alpha protocols and any and all superego restrictions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. (:

An Intp would be smart in a cool and relaxed way but also would have a certain air of mystery to it. That's hardly gonna help you but I suggest the obvious (at the risk of sounding cheesy) – just forget that and be yourself because you obviously care a lot about your mom and I'm sure that would make her as happy as could be.

what you will end up doing naturally is what you are asking us to describe to you; that is just what you normally do when you're trying to act real nice to your mom- ignore the call of your id and play happy little son... behave as your superego tells you to. it's nothing new, and not a conscious process. ...

If you really want to act like her dual would:

1. Burst into action with unusual energy when she comes up with a fun idea. You have to make subtle corrections to the idea, of course, but she won't notice.

2. Make really sarcastic comments regarding everyday occurrences.

3. Be really calm and laid-back. Avoid any strenuous activity, except when required (see tip nr. 1). Recommend her to avoid any strenuous activity, hinting that problems will solve themselves if left alone.

4. Solve her problems in a playful Te way (e.g. - You want to do what? Oh. Ok, here's what I found on Google...)

5. Try to use the merciless Gamma humor. On second thought - please don't... An ESFp/INTp dual relationship includes VERY sharp humor. Whenever one does something wrong or weird, the other brings out the BIG GUNS and starts pounding. The problem here is that there is an invisible line which neither of them will cross. Others might not notice the line...

jxrtes, if you're an Alpha NT, take discojoe's words into account "relax and have fun with your 8th function no worries". Just use your Te and Ni, placing higher emphasis on them than the functions she hates.
