I'm familiar with the theory of vertical subtypes, and to me it seems so... arbitrary. I do kind of agree with you, that subtypes do play a part in the "intensity" of intertype relations; for example, since Fi blocks Ti, Fi-IEE will feel more scrutinized by Ti-LII than by Ne-LII. However, if given enough time, I think Ne-LII would prove to be just as unbearable as Ti-LII for Fi-IEE, which seems to fit with what you're saying here:
