Nope, at least I don't think so.
Both Stewart and LoPresti() are great men. I used to watch the Daily Show and die laughing. Now I know why, ever since socionics.

ILE-Ti sounds good
Updated: read some of his quotes and it's looking like he's 7w8 so/sp after all, and not 7w6 so/sx as I previously considered.

Yeah, ILE imo too.
He is for sure an LIE. I get why the ILE typing seems popular if you just think about him as a character or a societal force, i.e. the court jester who doesn't take anything seriously. But it's clear he's actually not as laid back and relaxed as his persona.
ILEs aren't necessarily laid back and relaxed - they're more energetic. His persona is making fun of Te-ego types too. Valuing Ne and Ti is at least very clear - he makes fun of people and circumstances because they are stupid, usually sarcastically, and he jumps from topic to topic - he rarely goes in-depth with something, suggesting Ep.
You're absolutely correct that ILEs aren't necessarily laid back and relaxed. That was poor wording on my part. I meant that he's not quite as non-"serious," both in the colloquial and socionics sense, as his reputation. Also I find that sarcasm is often the natural mode of communication for LIE, even more so than ILE.
He certainly seems to pay a lot of conscious attention to information.
i think Jon Stewart as ILE is a pretty good typing. if you want to compare him to an LIE in a similar position, look at his interactions with Bill O'Reilly. even though they often disagree and their discussions can get a little heated, i think they have some level of genuine mutual interest and respect for each other's viewpoints, which i think is consistent with Quasi-identity relations. they have both appeared on each other's shows multiple times, and even had a 1-on-1 debate together a few years ago; if they totally hated or disrespected each other, i doubt they would do that. however they don't seem to actually change each other's minds on anything, and they probably don't end up putting much stock in the other's opinion, even though they are interested in discussion. the fact that their political views are usually opposing seems to "amplify" the Quasi-identical effect.
Quasi-identity relations (Meged & Ovcharov)
These relations are well suited for friendships or partnerships, but they are not very favorable for very close relationships. There is a desire to understand your quasi-identical partner, to aid him, to provide him with your advice. His views and methods seem rather unusual and interesting. This inspires to many discussions and also disagreements, however, there is usually a desire to find a compromise. Upon closing of the distance, a minor quarrel can quickly upset these relations, especially when someone's personal interests have been threatened. Quasi-identical types often have the same sphere of interests but see things from different angles. There are difficulties in understanding and inability to acknowledge interests of one another.
It is refreshing to see that there is some Truth in trying to type celebrities, i.e., a consensus on Jon Stewart being ILE.
Jon Stewart comes across as a pretty clean cut Ti-ILE. Bill O'Reilly VIs rational and definitely comes across as Si valuing like Jon Stewart.
Honestly, I would expect very few Gammas NTs to get screen time, they're generally not likeable in a TV sort of way. (Not that there aren't any I can think of.)

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

yea if Bill O'Reilly is Si valuing, LSE seems possible too.
though i have to disagree with the idea that Gamma NTs are "not likeable" enough for television. it's not really what i've seen; you find all kinds of people on TV. certain types/quadras may dominate certain shows or certain channels, e.g. like when Delta shows/films stereotypically portray Betas as the evil villains who upset the peace. so maybe Gamma NTs are absent from certain areas, but they're there for sure. imho there's a lot of Gamma-friendly programming on American TV, though like i said you can find all kinds.
More support for Ti-ego (because of his criticism of the selective nature of Fox "News", among other things):

This is a interesting look at Steward. More of his personal thoughts and less entertainment.
Everyone and their mama knows this guy is ILE
Logical + Intuitive. Alpha.
ILE sounds good to me, but I thought we were supposed to disagree on everything.
I bet Gulenko types him EIE in Gulenkonics.
