Hi everyone,

In the Beta forum I’ve come up with a good list of ISTjs. Those with this - (?) - after their name means that their type is unconfirmed. Here it is:

Morpheus (The Matrix)
Agent Smith (The Matrix)
Mace Windu (Star Wars)
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars)
The Emperor (Star Wars)
Principal Skinner (The Simpsons)
Master Chief John-117 (Halo computer game series)
Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell computer game series) (?)
Atticus Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird)
Li Mu Bai (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon) (?)
Yu Shu Lien (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon) (?)

The Romans
The Germans
Ayn Rand
Jonathan Niednagel
Christy Mathewson
Mike Krzyzewski
Carl Jung
George Steinbrenner
Gordan Ramsey
Toshiro Mifune
Gregor Mendel

I’m pretty much fine with this list. The trouble is that I don’t know why these people are ISTjs. I know about the Romans, and Stalin, but that’s about it. People have said things like “If you look at the Simpsons, Principal Skinner is ISTj.” That’s fine, but now I’d like to know WHY they are ISTjs. For example, what is it about Morpheus’s leadership style that makes him ISTj? What about Master Chief, Christy Mathewson, Gregor Mendel, Toshiro Mifune, Atticus Finch and all of the rest?

Could somebody please help me on this, because my knowledge of Socionics is weak at best so I don’t know much about ISTjs and what kind of people they are.

They are not necessarily down-to-earth, with Ti as first function.

Please take the Germans off your list. Germany as a nation is not that old, and our national identity is very weak compared to regional identities, which are strong and differ very widely from each other. You can't lump Masurians, Bavarians, East Friesians, Saxons and Alamans together.

Bavarians - ESxx
East Friesians - ISxx
Alamans (Black Forest) - INxP
Berlin - ESTP

...just wild guesses, but less wild than saying "Germans = ISTJ".
