    Default Margaret Thatcher

Still on the "Prime Ministers series" --

    Brief clip

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=rQ-M0KEFm9I

An (unfortunately edited) PM question with Margaret Thatcher.

It "takes off" after 1 min or so. Towards the end, look for the question by the LII Tony Benn.

The videos that you've watched are mostly about important issues not the day-to-day trivial crap so, yeah I guess it would look grand and exciting.

I can see the case for that, but her argumentation in the PM questions video, both in substance and the wording she chooses, is mostly .

But she seems so solid and sturdy. Most Te types I've seen seem to get flustered, but she is totally unflinching in everything she says, with an attitude of "I'm right, and to hell with you if you disagree". I think that's more ISxj than anything. IDK, I'd need to see more of her.

She was known as 'the iron lady' from time to time. From what I recall she was pretty quick to hire and fire her cabinet members. She even told the then president Ronald Reagan to 'mind his own business' when he tried to disuade her from taking direct action to reclaim the falklands islands. She did understandably imo display some tearful emotion tho at the end of her term as her own party forced her out of the PM role.

Just some general extra trivia for you. Might help.

I'm not sure myself. I was inclined to type her as LIE for some time; then I thought that LSI made more sense, for many reasons. But what I see her using - with relish - in the PM questions clip is , , "negative " as in showing her contempt for individuals and the Labour Party, and - but perhaps you can comment on this - she mercilessly attacks her opponents's competence on matters. That doesn't strike me as a PoLR thing to do. I do agree, though, that she shows more than what I'd expect in a LIE, from that point of view Tony Blair is a more typical HA person. A lot of her arguments could be seen as , but she keeps coming back to "what works" as a argument. Also, in the clip about the sinking of the "General Belgrano", she is unflinching in a way - it was right to sink the ship to protect "our boys". would have been more like, "that was necessary to win" etc. But that's just one case.

What do you think of LSE. Strong Te, very aware of her senses. Apparently very patriotic, and little patience for uncertainty in decisions in her and others could suggest Ni as PoLR?

there was a previous typing thread for her that didn't seem to get anywhere as she got typed across half the socion, so I decided to create a new one to see if there would be more consensus now

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Oh no, I'm alone with my LIE typing so far! If you guys really see LSE then I advice you to watch more videos of her. She is so incredibly LIE that it's not even funny. She is really confident in Ni also, as one can see in the interviews.

I think the residents wanted to stay under British rule but i could be wrong in that assumption, just from my scattered memory. Poll tax (current day council tax?) protesters and a large percentage of the working class are pretty pleased she has passed on though.

Now this is a story all about how, my type got changed, turned upside down. Just wait for a minute and watch chatbox right there, & I'll tell how Gem became the moderator with blue hair.

In typology central friended and praised, on the picture thread was where she spent most her days. Chilling out, selfies, relaxing all cool, And all typing some people and getting them schooled.

When a couple of girls who were up to no good, Started annoying her & her friends in the forumhood, She got in one little flame war & got pissed off & said 'I'm moving in with that exboyfriend in the forum with the socionics toffs.

So Gem pulls up to the forum for a year without being a hater, And yells to typocentral 'Yo creeps! Smell Ya later', Became a mod in her kingdom she was finally there, To sit on her throne as the mod with blue hair.

There was a turnout of more than 90% from 1,672 British citizens eligible to vote in a population of about 2,900.

Of 1,517 votes cast in the two-day referendum - on a turnout of more than 90% - 1,513 were in favour, while just three votes were against.

I like margaret thatcher because I agree with her policies (ironic being one of 'thatchers children' as a school teacher once put it), but also because she reminds me of my gran.

Perhaps overlooked by American's that the impact of Margaret Thatcher was to move the UK away from command economy communual-social policies to individualist, laissez faire, liberal ones. Even left wing governments which are generally 'pro-Europe' in the UK tend to find it impossible to meet the requirement even by large numbers of their own socialist supporters for extreme privacy and to drive back centralist policy making.

But it also had the consequence of shutting down many of the massive 'job creation' industries, like coal, steel and manufacturing in addition to deflating the size of the UK government and civil service thus earning a lot of hate for not continuing to subsidise unsustainable expenditure. This still continues to this day from people who feel they 'lost out'.

This had the impact of changing a UK which was the 'sick man' of Europe and looked as if it was about to collapse due to it going to the IMF for emergency money into an economy almost in parallel with Germany in less than 15 years. It has also made the UK the hotbed for anti-european centralisation but pro-european free trade.

She is also somewhat uniquely loved in both the US and Russia for bringing Gorbachev into the 'west' by stating publically 'here is someone I can do business with' and bringing him to the table with the Americans which started to process of bringing down the Iron Curtain. A strange acheivement since those cultures continuously head-butt idealogically. I don't think its a coincidence that she finally stepped aside the same day that the Berlin Wall came down.

Guido made the statement 'There is no other front page'; it's viewed as an international event in many major countries.
