Ego, Super-Ego, Super-Id and Id, then the functions are the variations between. like there is only a certain amount of functions and energy to be distributed in this framework.

Oh, i was just going with the joke, the "we all poop" joke. but i'm sorry, it wasn't fair since you were starting a serious thread so i am sorry.

I think that you'll find the universals in the exclusives. for example, we all have an ego, but in the ego there are exclusives, is what I Was saying.

I think we all have the same basic biological and social needs. I think we all operate under the same basic principles, except one. I think type represents differences in how we identify with others and with our environment.

Perhaps everything except for certain aspects of the relational theory.
Binary or dichotomous systems, although regulated by a principle, are among the most artificial arrangements that have ever been invented. -- William Swainson, A Treatise on the Geography and Classification of Animals (1835)

We all have a brain. I think. Wait a minute...
    Yep, everybody's got a brain.
    Wait... do I?
    Yes, I've got one.
Now, how do I put all these brains back?

    We're all human(whatever that means).
"To become is just like falling asleep. You never know exactly when it happens, the transition, the magic, and you think, if you could only recall that exact moment of crossing the line then you would understand everything; you would see it all"

*stabs closest ESTp in the eye with a pen*

I'm sorry, did you say something, Herz?
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I think our concept of self develops from a need to maintain a certain form (structure) in our interactions with others and our environment. All interactions occur through signals. There are 16 basic ways a person can structure a signal. Any one can be taken as an identity in defining basic signal operations. The principles of these operations are the same; they differ only in the identities they take.

Note: The substance (content) of interactions varies. Environments constantly vary. Internal environments vary in learning and physiology. If there were no variations, then there would be no interactions. We make a living changing.
