The stereotype of ESFps as promiscuous

So, I decided to read through some of the older threads in this forum, and noticed that there were violent arguments over whether SEEs were sluts/horny/promiscuous/ touchy-feely/ untrustworthy/etc... Where does this stereotype come from? I know a couple of SEEs and some Gamma SFs that could be EP, and they are very friendly warm people, but I know not one that I would characterize with one of the terms above.

I know one very "conservative" right-winged, religious SEE. She flirts at me infront of her boyfriend, and was very touch-feely in certain instances of greeting me. It seems to be more an inability to 'close off' old feelings of fondness or flirtation, as, the SEE and I used to flirt lots a few years ago... and she still sees me that way or our relationship that way, even though it isn't any more.

That's one personal experience, but, it fits in with 'that stereotype'

Yeah, I've wondered about that stereotype as well. I myself am a generally friendly and warm person, but I'm far from promiscuous. I do know an SEE who is promiscuous... but I also know a bunch of people of other types who sleep around. So I'm thinking the link bt socionics type and likelihood to randomly sleep w a lot of people isn't very strong.

I agree w aixelsyd that the SEE = slut stereotype is a lot like the SLE = bully stereotype....

Yeah. I think these caricatures are very useful if you know how to extract the essential and not take them literally.

"My" stereotypical SEE is envious, showing-off, can't bear to be ignored, occasionally lying as a hobby - without having a purpose or being in danger. I can see Betas more promiscuous than SEE.

Yep. Caricatures aren't meant to be taken litteraly, but just an exaggaration to make differences with other types more obvious.

I would like to add that some SEE's are pretty loyal and also like to wait for the right person, instead of humping everyone they meet. (though in all fairness, a small percentage of SEE does hump everyone they meet.)

Hmmm I guess I would say that being flirtatious and not liking to commit could be true of EPs in general. The overly touchy feely isn't as applicable across EPs as much in my experience.

I think their promiscuity is simply more visible and they're more "in your face" about it than other sensing extraverts, who seem to be fairly promiscuous as well.

Introverts are the ones you'll never suspect and never know the truth about though.
