Much torrenting in progress. Much viewing to follow.

    Wow, I'd have never guessed.

Do you understand the reasoning, at all, behind arranged celeb couples?

In my closed-off Western view, it's hard to imagine a country's wealthiest, most public, and most influential people being "forced" or "guided" into something as personal as marriage; but there's probably some cultural differences I'm completely unaware of.

Yeah I really do think its a HEAVILY cultural thing. You'll see, once you start watching a lot of these movies. It seems inconceivable to us in our Western culture nowadays, but in some ways i sort of can see some good aspects to it. Sometimes I kind of wish I could be arranged it sure would make my search a lot easier! The people being arranged usually do have some say.

I think duals tend to be rather similar at times in terms of VI and behaviour. As such, it might not be very straightforward at times to determine who is what type.

I think you're totally right about this, with "at times" being the key words here.

This is probably way off-topic for what the thread's about, but I gotta ask...

If duals may (potentially) look alike in VI and behavior, would that suggest that we're drawn to people that, in a sense, look and act like ourselves?

I think that's actually been studied and shown to be true. I'll try to find a source.

I'd comment on more, but Bollywood thinks 3-hour flicks are a good idea. (Though, of what I've seen so far, they're pretty much right.)

It took me two days to do it, but I just finished Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge... and absolutely loved it. My expectations were very average, but the flick was "epic" in every sense of the word. It could've been twice as long; I'd still want more. It seems the movie's "kind of a big deal" in India; but if the others you mentioned are even half as good, consider me hooked.

SRK: LIE (Quote in an interview I just saw: "I don't think good of you; I don't think bad of you. In fact, I don't even think of you. I don't think any of us have time to think of another.")

Kajol: EIE-Fe (I could also see IEE like you mentioned, though. Base or demonstrative, Fe's pretty strong.)

I TOLD YOU!! The indians sure know how to tell a story, dont they! It really isn't just for no reason that movies like this are a big deal. They really are that good. And yes the others I mentioned are that good, and some even better.

I know, they're a little long... Splitting up into installments is a good idea, if u can wait in suspense for that long!

SRK: LIE (Quote in an interview I just saw: "I don't think good of you; I don't think bad of you. In fact, I don't even think of you. I don't think any of us have time to think of another.")
    !!!!!!

that's what Ashton said, even not knowing the dude (just from the pic!)

Kajol: EIE-Fe (I could also see IEE like you mentioned, though. Base or demonstrative, Fe's pretty strong.)

hmmm... She just seems so Fi-valuing to me. And I thought her Fe is relatively subdued and used only for Fi aims (not just to be dramatic--contrast Amitabh). I think she played an IEE in the movie. Obviously her being an actress is going to require her to push the Fe at times, which she does seem like she's doing at times (like, fake Fe). You'll see in the beginning of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. I don't know, i'm not sure.

    HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

to be honest I dont have a clear cut opinion of her type. Ij maybe?

@Workaholicsanon: I like the thread to keep going as well, but I think only CILi, you and I are interested in this thread. Lol.

I think Bollywood movies have good plots, but the storyline can be a bit long at times. I probably feel like that because I'm not a big fan of musicals, and I get impatient whenever the actors/actresses break into a song and dance in the midst of the movie.

Nevertheless, I find Bollywood actors/actresses rather talented, considering that they can look good, sing, dance, and act well all at the same time.

Really, you think Kajol is Se-ego? Her demeanor is WAYYYY different from Aishwarya's though, so I highly doubt SLE for her. SEE maybe. That would explain why she and SRK made a really good on screen couple. I think Kajol is married to a delta ST though (Ajay Devgan). She and her husband acted together in "U me aur hum", which was a pretty good movie.

Bollywood actors aren't usually the ones singing. They lip synch, and an actual talented singer sings behind the scenes. There are some exceptions to that though--i think Amitabh sometimes sings his own songs.

As far as the movies having song and dance, that is part of what I about indian movies. I've never seen them as analogous to the american "musical," but rather the indian movie music and dance representing something deeply ingrained in the indian culture. Not to mention that often I LOVE the music, and I love the dance, and the way the dance scenes are shot. The music from the movies become very popular songs among the indians (and me sometimes!). It's very different from Western culture. If song and dance are missing from an indian movie, I think something is very wrong! But to each his/her own I guess.

I had him down as ?Ne?-INFj. Quotes like this seem Fi to me:

"I sometimes think that people’s hearts are like deep wells. Nobody knows what’s at the bottom. All you can do is imagine by what comes floating to the surface every once in a while."

"But I didn't understand then. That I could hurt somebody so badly she would never recover. That a person can, just by living, damage another human being beyond repair."
