I find that this happened with a lot of people. Basically, the show is totally different than the first episode. I read an article in which the creators decided their worst episode was the first ("Cartman gets an anal probe"). After the pilot, the show became increasingly satirical and now it's one of the best social commentaries out there imo. There are two layers to the show. The first is the grotesque toilet humor that serves as shock value, easy comedy, and a context for the second layer which is a sort of cynical optimism. You might also include a third layer, which is the lives of the boys who inevitably get caught up in the ridiculous world of adults episode to episode, being avatars of Stone and Parker.

I like it because even though the South Park world is totally ridiculous in alot of ways, the end results of the characters actions tend to mimic real world results. The real world is often just as ridiculous as the world those boys live in. Most of the time there's a moral conveyed through the contrasting/overlapping of real life and their satirical universe. On a lot of levels, i find the show to be surprisingly profound in seemingly out-of-nowhere situations.

Especially because a "type" does not have any specific relationship to a "quadra." Even then, a show has too much complexity of production and of viewing to inherit but the vaguest Socionics relationship.

Not first episode per order of episodes, "first" episode. Didn't follow it before nor intent to. I just turned on the TV and there it was. I turned it off after few mins.

    QFT.

Now it's quality has declined very much.

Very much disagree. Have you seen Imagination Land? I'll give you that some episodes, like Funnybot, were pure shock humor, but they are still very much a satire. Their references/subtexts have become more particular over time, and so some episodes seem random when you don't know the parallel(s), but nobody knows them all and the show is fun and well-written regardless.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

My roommates got me into this show. The old episodes are terrible, but the ones past season 3 or maybe 4 are pretty clever/funny.

Overall the show seems Beta-Gamma in terms of its humor.

    Stan- ESI
    Kyle- EII
    Butters- SEI
    Cartman- SLE or LSI
    Wendy- ESI
    Jimmy- LII
    Randy- SEE or SLE?
    Butter's Dad- LSE

In my view, South Park's primary focal point of criticism is Fi, especially in the later episodes. Makes sense with the creators being xLEs.

All I know is that PC Principal is a caricature of an ESI-Se.

Making fun of Fi is dark humor in a nutshell.
Projection is ordinary. Person A projects at person B, hoping tovalidate something about person A by the response of person B. However, person B, not wanting to be an obejct of someone elses ego and guarding against existential terror constructs a personality which protects his ego and maintain a certain sense of a robust and real self that is different and separate from person A. Sadly, this robust and real self, cut off by defenses of character from the rest of the world, is quite vulnerable and fragile given that it is imaginary and propped up through external feed back. Person B is dimly aware of this and defends against it all the more, even desperately projecting his anxieties back onto person A, with the hope of shoring up his ego with salubrious validation. All of this happens without A or B acknowledging it, of course. Because to face up to it consciously is shocking, in that this is all anybody is doing or can do and it seems absurd when you realize how pathetic it is.

I find lack of alphaness bit disturbing. It is watchable and funny at times. My SEI friend likes it, though. I just prefer subtle ways of destroying of ones feelings...

Not whole lot of alpha and delta in it.
I agree with the notion that the show is Se/Ni valuing.
    Looking my arch enemy:
Wendy is truly an ESI she just handles everything backwards (too many of them been in my life ).
    Cartman SLE
    supervision thing going on.

Wow. There is bit controversial ILE-SEI duality

South Park is very Beta and has very overt Se themes but underlying Ni meaning behind it. Making fun of everything in real life happening in current times is a very Beta Se thing. I think Trey Parker is SLE-Se and although he does crazy things, he views himself as “normal, caring, boring” like Stan. Matt Stone is EIE-Ni and appears more “introverted” but sees himself as “moral, uptight, outraged” like Kyle. The boys aren’t necessarily embodiments of the creators as adults, but how they saw themselves as kids and their childhood. Cartman is SLE and represents the real Trey by voicing his views and how he sees the world.

I grew up watching South Park. My LSE mom used to watch some of the episodes with me. She thought the show was funny because she thought I’m like Cartman. Ironically, at the time, I had a grey cat who was named Kitty.

    Matt Stone - ISTP Gabin

Have some difficulty in identifying Trey Parker's type. Will figure it out soon.
