I'm effectively a carbon copy of my Mum, in both appearance and mannerisms. My Dad says that we give him the same "looks" when we're annoyed at him or he tells a bad joke.

My Mum is not an INFp.

So what types could look similar to INFp?
Heh. Completely subjective questions. Twins are carbon copies, but rarely the same type? I dunno, I guess it goes: mirror, look-a-like, dual? So maybe: ENFj, ISFp, ESTp. If you give us some information about your mum, then we'd probably be able to do a decent job of determining her type.

She's kind of distractible, our conversations never stay in the same place for long, sometimes they move in the middle of a sentence.

She comes across as a perceiving type although she seems like she tries to be a judging type.

She dislikes it when I am being "too analytical" or "too scientific".

She's also good at making me doubt my ideas. She gets me defensive easily, I feel like I need to explain myself.

I got her to read the ISFp description, she said it was close but not quite.
well, you've directly given us ISxp. So, she'd probably be ISFp. An ISTp wouldn't really be that similar, I don't think, to an INFp. She could be an ISTj. Does she seem more emotionally centered, or is she big on logic? It would make sense that look-a-likes look alike, if you know what I mean ... also possible are ISFj and ESFp. heh.
    thing.

    I think she's a ISFP.
To me she looks like a calm peace-loving peacemaker
ISFPs are also much more pragmatic than INFPs who just seems aloof in comparison.

But how does that line up? She said her Mom didn't like the analytical thinking. SEIs are more logical and sequential thinkers than IEIs.

What's biting my noodle is the fact that she says her mom wants the general idea (N) rather than the details (S).

INFj, if not ISFp, if not INFp, otherwise I don't know.

Sounds very INFp to me. Perhaps with Ishy being one, she can't see it in her mom. Her mom's description sounds just like me.

She comes across as a perceiving type although she seems like she tries to be a judging type. Cone says this about me all the time.

She dislikes it when I am being "too analytical" or "too scientific". Yes, just go with the flow! Stop making mountains out of mole hills.

Are you sure YOU are the INFp, Ishy?

The ISFPs i've met have all hated logics and maths, but still have been very down-to earth, caring and observant

While INFPs seems more idealistic, not as detail-oriented, and much more absent-minded.

Only, my experience, so might be very wrong
