Hmmm... maybe I'll be someone's favorite high school english teacher real quick for a couple years before I do college or theater or whatever. But it would have to be like 11th graders, and they would all have to be smart. And I would want Arthur Rimbaud to write me a letter about how he plans to be a poet.

That interview was annoying. Why didn't Megan Fox just act like a diva and leave? I guess that was the point...? Or there wasn't a point...? That was just stupid.

My IEI teacher basically conducted our AP class as one drawn-out debate over each night's reading for about half the semester. I thought it was awesome, but he had to stop because apparently some of my classmates became intimidated by my presence when I was allowed to speak at will. lol.
That's pretty freaking awesome. People think I'm angry at them when I'm arguing with them, and I don't understand why. Just because you're wrong doesn't mean I'm mad at you, goodness. But yeah, I had to leave the kid gloves on, because people will say some dumb shit, and they sorta kinda know it's dumb and you can't just embarrass them...

That was pretty much the first semester of my humanities class, which was glorious and the professor loved me and the class was incredible, even when the professor proved me wrong (actually especially when he proved me wrong). I learned so much that I didn't even notice how much I learned.

Then last semester I had this horrible horrible delta woman. And we had a HEAVILY beta class: the people who talked the most were me (IEI), an SLE, two LSIs, another IxI (but probably IEI), and then a few scattered gammas and this one delta girl (probably IEE-frumpy subtype) who the beta STs just HATED with a passion, and I didn't think she was THAT bad. And the LSIs would just laugh their asses off at this professor (I mean, not so much in class, but internally I could tell they were constantly wearing this series of expressions: ). And then everybody ganged up on her and wrote bad reviews of her on this professor-rating website, and every time I'm having a bad day I can look at those reviews and laugh.
Not a rule, just a trend.

IEI. Probably Fe subtype. Pretty sure I'm E4, sexual instinctual type, fairly confident that I'm a 3 wing now, so: IEI-Fe E4w3 sx/so. Considering 3w4 now, but pretty sure that 4 fits the best.

    Yes 'a ma'am that's pretty music...

I am grateful for the mystery of the soul, because without it, there could be no contemplation, except of the mysteries of divinity, which are far more dangerous to get wrong.

The best classes for debate are philosophy. One year, I had this Se-SEE professor who was a hardcore Catholic; I'm a pretty straight atheist, so of course we debated to the bone all semester long. I put him in the hole a few times, where he just really had nothing to say to me, but he endured. In our last class, I took a sort of parting shot, dealt his "faith" a pretty bitter blow by blowing up one of his formulas right as class was ending...I took another class with him a semester later, and lo and behold, he was a converted atheist

According to my more general impressions, seems more like "natural" AFP:

Her typical demeanor just seems so much more externally casual, emotion neutral and relaxed, slightly more pensive but also much more, uhh, real. By comparison the interview about the twitter thing makes it look like she must have been on coke or something.

I dunno, after distancing myself from the issue a bit I am considering the EIE typing more seriously, but watching other interviews reaffirms my overall impression of her from before watching the twitter interview, and I'm having a harder time seeing what made me question myself that I saw in the twitter interview.

    For comparison, Madonna:

sigh. I suppose that's something that, given my general philosophy, I am forced to admire, if not agree with. I'm sort of impressed. How smart was this Catholic character?

Also, I've found that literature classes can be great for debate if you debate philosophy and use the literature (it has to be very good literature, and representative, so generally not lyric poetry) as an instance of the philosophy or an example of how the philosophical issues come up in life. It gives you not only the theory but an instance to debate... it adds some concretion without sacrificing much potential for abstraction, because you can still float up and away from your example, but when you want to come back down, you've got something to come down to. Like I remember we were debating the collective unconscious/the nature and purpose of taboos and it was helpful to have the Oresteia (which is all about reason---which is not divorced from affect in the Oresteia---vs. illogical taboo, which is something like primal Gamma Fi) to return to as an instance of the issues we were debating. That's the kind of class I want to have.

Well he was a college professor at a fairly selective institution, so he was no dummy. However I felt consistently throughout the course of both classes I took with him that his understanding of raw logic was severely limited; that being said, I don't think that had much bearing on his actual religious beliefs anyways, and I think it was really the content of our discussions, rather than my thwarting of his proofs, that really changed his mind. I'm fairly certain I could do as much with anyone who wasn't a numb-minded zealout, given the same span of interaction with intentional focus on such matters.

See, that's the kind of class I'd like to teach.

    bahahaha.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

there's a missing link somewhere that I just haven't figured out yet.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

I knew that, but I don't know enough Jung to understand. Madonna makes you regret having an internal image of the feminine? Madonna makes you regret having a feminine side? I'm confused.

Will Jung teach me what sort of person will hook me like dangling shark fodder so that I can find such person and thereby bypass my impulse to relationship-avoidance via prevarication?

it was just self-mockery, because of the inevitability of the anima being projected onto someone. it's the gateway to hell.

That much I guessed. On the other hand, if I can avoid actually dealing with another human being and I can just project some subconscious part of myself onto her, well, that makes things a lot easier.

Gilly, I like your new avatar.

I've been researching this Jung anima stuff, and even from meditating for a while on the wikipedia summary, I can really see how it's both true and applicable. Now, tell me how I can skip straight to Sophia without having to see women as sexual objects (i.e., the projections of my desire), because I like women and I don't want to be an asshole guy, but I don't want to be fake, and it seems like until I skip to the higher stages of anima development the choice is between asshole and fake.
