I could never, ever see a 9 that represented the EJ temperament, nor one that had Te as a leading function.

Ezra is right about that. Of course a 9 can never have an EJ temperament. No rational type can be a 9.

Most if not all 9s tend to be strong in Fi or Fe as opposed to Ti or Te. An SLI is more likely to be a 5w6, 6w5 or a 7.

sorry, but 7s are waaay more likely to be ENFPs than ISTPs.
That's correct. But Ezra has a point. Type 9 is an ethical type in essence, though it is also the most clearly accentuated IP type in the Enneagram, so an ISTp would certainly feel some kind of similarity. There is no natural home for an ISTp in the Enneagram, but I would probably choose 5w6 as the best fit in most cases.

I'm not surprised. Most of the correlations are a bit useless. Nonetheless, if you're an 8, you should be able to identify at least somewhat with Aggressive. It is the pinnacle of the 8.

Never met an Si sub, have you?
But, for a certainty, back then,

I doubt a 9 would give a flying fuck about Te.

Depends on whether they are ultimately more motivated by Si or Te, and an Si-sub LSE can be more motivated by Si; he/she would just use Te to act on Si motivations.
