My sister is 32, unmarried, ESTp, and proud of it.

Most of her friends from h.s. and college have long since gotten married though. She obviously likes her independence and freedom.

check off an ENTj and ISFj for "married" though (both 28).

INFp and have been married twice. A palm reader said the second time would be the longest and end in husband's death and that I would married one more time after that. First marriage at at 28 lasted four years, five if you count the year it took to convince him to sign the divorce. Second marriage at 42 and six years so far so I have beat my first record.

I married my first husband two months after I graduated high school. We were married almost 2 years before separating. I think it was over a year before we were actually divorced though, because I was just too lazy to fill out the paperwork. I married my current husband 3 years ago in March. We'll likely be done by this spring. I'll probably marry again years from now, when I'm in a place in my life where I can make that kind of decision (aka- healthy), and then that relationship should be a life time one. We'll see what happens, though. There's always that whole polygomy idea.

Goin against the grain again....I've been married 11 years so far and only once. Didn't get married till I was 30, though, would never have been ready for it before then (not that others can't be ready at younger ages!).

    Marriage is overrated.

Married 7 years so far and only the one time. I got married when I was 28.

Honestly, I'm rather against the whole concept of marriage. I don't see how obligation is EVER a good thing in a relationship. Why do you need me to PROMISE I'll love you until I DIE?! Sheesh!

The first time I was just an idiot. The second time I recognized that marrying is merely registering your relationship with the government.

marrying is merely registering your relationship with the government.
Thats a very technical way of looking at it. You could also say that marage is a commitement to your partner when your sure you want to be with them forever, that you'll go through life together no matter what. And that may sound sappy, but thats the other way of looking at it. It's also very important in the christian religion because your not supposed to have kids until you get married under the ten commandments.

Yah.... I'm sorta not into the whole commitement thing much.... so it would take quite a while before I decided I was going to mary somebody... like.... a long time.

Hi. I'm Baby. I'm INFp, and to marry me you must:
    - be perfect in every way
    - be poetic
    - have amazing eyes
    - make me laugh
    - love music
    - be cuddly
    - enjoy my complete and devoted adoration
    - understand me even if I say the complete opposite of what I mean
    - find me impressive, charming, and otherwise adore me
    - make love like an underfed Roman gladiator
    - feed me
    - let me hold you for long stretches at a time
    - leave me alone for at least 10 of the 24 hours of the day
    - welcome my clinginess

... at this rate, I'll never get married.

That all sounds pretty damn appealing I gotta say.

I remember under MBTI statistics at least, the INFP was the lowest when it comes to marraige statistic rates. Fun stuff.

In other words, you'll only marry other INFps.

I had a list like that once, except mine took up the front and back of a college ruled paper. I found that the next guy I fell for, Josh, didn't meet up to a lot of my requirements. It didn't matter though. The important ones were there and the rest... well, I sorta saw him as an exception to the rules. And it was great for a while, too.

Maybe those types thought themselves to be Ps because of their supposed self-image of noncommitment?

Hi. I'm INTp and to marry me you must:

-live at least one country away (or in this case state)
    -Not touch me that much
    - Have an IQ of at least 1,000
-Being that you would have to live in another country you would have to come and see me at least five times a year.
    -Not be obsessed with monogamy.
    -Have amazing aesthetic taste
-The ability to have fun verbal confrontations

Oh yeah. There are many more.

Edit: Most importantly you must have a very high ping rate.

I always thought Columbian drug dealers wore white fancy suits? Guess I watch too much TV.

The last one from this topic area that I read stated that the 2 ENJ's married much later than the rest which makes sense as well. I can full well see an ENJ rejecting a relationship because they can foresee (whether their foresight is accurate or not is another discussion...) the possibility of failure.

Cone: I liked your self-image comment. It is a definite possibility and one of the many things to be considered when looking at temperament.

Rocky: Why the warning statement? Both Socionics and MBTI may have areas that are totally unreliable. Showing a specific bias and being narrow is of really poor scientific taste. Even if it is about subjective science (my pet name for the social sciences lol).

Becuase, those were just based off of people who took on-line tests, and I really don't trust on-line tests.
    MAYBE I'LL BREAK DOWN!!!
